“Great setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

Running through the beautiful Dorset countryside. The railway stops at the very popular village of corfe castle, well worth a visit.

Sadly the railway is a little short but will soon be running services to wareham from swanage on its new line.

Swanage was a letdown

All staff are passionate about there railway and runs very regular timetabled services.

“A great day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

This is a lot of fun.

If you want to save money, skip swanage and just do Norden to Corfe Castle on the train and then walk back. We went all the way to swanage but it was a bit boring and we took the next train back, we could have saved 20 quid or so by not going the full distance.

Corfe Castle town is really nice and worth stopping at.

We went on to Durdle Door afterwards which everyone enjoyed more.

“Nice”

Brilliant. The Swanage Railway is one of the leading preserved railways in the country. It's run to exceptionally high standards. The staff all take a pride in what they do and are most helpful. Swanage station is maintained in a 1950's/60's style and is an exceptional restoration. Make sure you stop for tea in the buffet car!

Lovely way to see the Dorset country side. A trio down memory lane, seeing the steam train was fantastic.

Corfe Castle has a small museum and it's worth taking the time to explore.
Can't wait until they get back to Wareham!
