“New Concept for a Premier Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

Pleasantly surprised how good this new concept Premier Inn was. Stayed either side of a short break to Guernsey, sailing from nearby Weymouth. The hotel is fairly new and despite being surrounded by construction works as it is situated in the old Brewery Quarter in Dorchester and the limited underground parking, it turned out to be a very good experience. Rather than being attached to a Brewer's Fayre or Beefeater it has its own "in-house" restaurant which served decent quality food in a pleasant airy atmosphere. No draught beer available on the bar though which was very disappointing. The room was, as with all Premier Inns, of a high standard, clean and comfortable with all needs catered for.

We stayed in this Premier Inn for 2 nights in June. It was a fabulous break and Dorchester a wonderful little town. Only a fifteen minute drive to the beach too. The room was modern, immaculately clean, quiet and the bed extremely comfy. Purchased the deal for unlimited breakfast and a two course dinner which were both delicious and even got a small glass of wine or small bottle of beer included - very good value! Brewery Square was delightful with plenty of restaurants if you wanted to eat out and walk back to hotel in minutes. Air-con kept it cool at night as it was a really hot couple of days during our visit. We found the staff on reception to be very helpful and cheerful as were the restaurant staff. We will be returning.

Being one of those eccentrics who doesn't drive a car, I don't get to moan endlessly about parking. In the case of this hotel, I get to say how brilliant it is have your accommodation almost immediately next to the railway station. Even better, some buses also start from the station; this hotel is superbly located for all forms of sensible transport. Otherwise, it has all the usual Premier virtues. It was extremely quiet. The restaurant is more spacious and better laid-out than many. The air-conditioning in the bedroom was excellent throughout three very warm days. The Brewery Square development is pleasant and tasteful. The only drawback was that the lifts didn't always work properly; needs sorting.

Room Tip: My second floor room was extremely quiet.

Hi there! Let me say thank you for taking the time to write a review, it is great to get constructive feedback, so let me start first with the lifts. The lifts are controlled by your Hotel Key cards, and yes sometimes they play up, I know this is frustrating, modern technology, however, we like it to stay with key control lifts as this is an added security for your stay, it stops just anyone being able to access the hotel. I love the comments about how brilliant your stay was, it makes me incredibly proud as a manger to hear that! I hope you get to visit us again soon. Kind Regards, Claire, Ops Manager

Stayed at this Premier Inn for 2 nights in early June. The hotel is quite new and built on the site of the old Hardy Brewery, so it is very convenient for the town centre. We arrived early and were allocated a space in the underground car park for the duration of our stay (no extra charge). Our room was a decent size, bright, comfortable and kept spotlessly clean. Modern flat screen TV, rather small 21" ?, but then we didn't go on holiday to watch TV! Had breakfast in the hotel restaurant which was excellent, buffet style and lots of choice, next time would probably opt for the evening meal as well. Throughout our stay all the staff were friendly and very helpful. Why can't all hotels be like this! Tip - try and arrive early to get a space in the underground car park (spaces limited), otherwise parking is in the council car park across the road at £4 a day.

Thank you for a lovely review! We love our new hotel, we have just celebrated our 1st Birthday! I am glad we were able to get you a parking space underground, although we only have limited parking, we do try and get all off our guests parked as best as we can. I am glad you found the room great and spotlessly clean, I shall pass that onto Housekeeping, they will be thrilled! I shall also ensure the rest of the team hear about your great comments! Thank you once again for your lovely comments. We hope to see you again here in Dorchester. Kind Regards, Claire, Ops Manager

Good and comfortable modern budget hotel in interesting Premier Inn Brewery Quarter of Dorchester. The Brewery Quarter great model of how to expand an old town while retaining warmth and vitality and a valuable lesson that should be learned by the designers and sponsors of the neighboring, soulless Poundbury, which looks and feels as though the patrons would never consider actually living there.

The inn was very good for money - better than a Best Western - as good as a Marriott. Breakfast was very good and staff helpful although of course very busy.

You don't normally expect service to be top of the list when booking into these chain hotels. The staff here were excellent. They were helpful in all aspects whether giving tourist information or finding extra hot chocolates for the kids. Always smiley and cheerful.

The rooms were standard issue Premier Inn, comfortable, clean & functional at a price to give most B&B's something to worry about.

This is a relatively new Premier Inn in the new Brewery Quarter of Dorchester. Arrived too early to check in but reception girl extremely pleasant and allocated me a car parking space in the underground car park for the length of our stay (4 nights).
Room very clean and could not fault.
All staff very pleasant and helpful.
Very central with plenty of choice of places to eat within a few minutes walk.
Will definately stay again.
