The Amarillo was a lovely base for us during our time in Bournemouth. Although about a half-hour walk from the city centre, there was parking for us and was easy to get on and off the main roads in and out of town.
Beautifully decorated, the rooms are varied. We had the front room on the first floor and my parents stayed in the room towards the back of the same floor. That room was particularly warm, and rather snug, but the front room was spacious and had loads of storage space. My only comment would be that the bed was extremely firm. We were exhausted, so it didn’t affect our rest, but my personal preference is usually for something a bit squishier!
The light continental breakfast was fresh and tasty, and served in another charming room.
It is the friendly and gracious hosts, Rob and Paul who really make the Amarillo. Unfortunately we had one of “those” moments once we had checked out and realised two hours’ drive away that we had left some documents in a drawer. Their help and assistance to send them on to us was reassuring and they did everything from start to beyond our departure to ensure our visit was a pleasant one.
