Mr partner and I stayed here a few weeks ago, mid September, as a cheap stopover while I settled my daughter into her UNI. We weren't expecting much from the price and pictures, but figured we would put up with it for one night, as it was not really a 'holiday'.
I was very pleasantly surprised! The hotel was very a little gem :) The lady who served us at the desk and at breakfast was lovely, extremely helpful and genuinely made us feel welcome. The room was old fashioned in it's decor, but immaculately clean and tidy which is all that really matters! The room was cosy and welcoming, as was the rest of the hotel.
The breakfast was lovely, plenty to eat, well cooked and pleasantly served. The tables were clean and beautifully presented, slight 80's styling all around but to be honest it made a talking point and bought back some memories!
The outside needs attention, which is a shame because it may be offputting, and it is true the inside decor needs to be updated, but it certainly wouldn't stop me returning. I felt very comfortable and would definately consider it for a weekend break.
