Looked OK from the front.

On arrival we checked in. We were given a key weren't shown to the room, instead we had to wonder around and find it. lucky we held off on the drinking till after we found it, it was like being at sea, not a level floor in there. When we found it we very nearly asked for a refund, but as it was for just one night we decided to stay. Cat... couldn't swing a hamster! We payed £98 pounds for the room, couldn't have been worth more than £60. Very dated room, cheap throw on the bed, crappy chair with worn out arms, the waldrobe was falling to bits the carpet was poorly fitted and dirty, the bed, well move a toe and wake the world! the head board had two greasy marks where others had been before. The tv was tiny, we may as well have wacthed stuff on our phones! The phones have more choice to watch also. The tea/coffee tray was sparse to say the least, not a bourbon in sight (maybe thats just me being a gutty git!) ooohhh the toilet roll........ Rough, me thinkth its the tesco value variety. I know this because we have it at home, but then again we don't pay £98 a night to stay at home do we!

Well thats the room dealt with, lucky we were totally drunk really because she wouldn't have stayed there if it wasn't for the fact she passed out!

We were told that we had a partial sea veiw... partial if you count looking at the reflection in the window of the opposite hotel!

Cant fault the location or the view from the smokers balcony. nice view out to sea, maybe they expected us to sleep on there for our sea view! dont go looking back at the hotel though, the windows (well the ones that that weren't boarded over, thats too harsh really there was only one or two boarded!) were rotten or cracked.

Breakfast was a trial, we both ordered the balmoral grill, mine with no toms and a side of toast. We recieved one grill with toms, and a poached egg (I think it was a poached egg anyway) on toast and no toast. Sent it back and got two grill, both with toms. Toast turned up 20 minutes later. It was tiny, the fried slice... well quarter slice, one sausage an egg a rasher of bacon. They must love it when there club card vouchers come though, because everything in there is tesco value!!! even the OJ! We were told they were understaffed, I just think they couldn't organise it properly!

I also think they should consider some double glazing and wall insulation, because it is inpossible to sleep due to the noise both inside and out. Even with the booze, we only managed about two hours sleep. The staff were friendly enough, although they didn't really go out of their way at all.

We'd never consider staying here again, Even if they payed us to!

This hotel needs alot of work to justify the price you pay.. My sister checked out after seeing her room as it was so bad, furniture damaged and dirty.. Breakfast consists of very small portions.. Our family room was dated and had no bath.this hotel us unsuitable for families that use pushchairs as is ten steps up to the front door.I think they must be short of housekeeping staff as reception was covered in the hotels dogs hairs, our room was not vacumed either for the 3 days we stayed.rooms would benefit from having duvets instead of sheets and itchy blankets and new matress's and pillows as ours were all hard, old and stained.location is fab and the people are nice but would not stay again.

me and my wife booked in to the hotel at 2 oclock on the saturday afternoon and we checked out by 3 oclock. The room was disgusting and i wouldnt put my dog in there to sleep .There was a broken bed ripped chairs, and the bedside table had coffee stains all over so obviously no cleaners. At 98 pound a nite i would expect alot better than this.In my eyes this was a 20 pound a nite room.

We are, of course, sorry that our guests were not happy with thier room. However we understood the situation as this room is currently 2nd on our list for refurbishment. Our guests were kind enough to speak to me discreetly as there were other guests around, the situation was dealt with amicably and they collected thier belongings and departed - it amazes me, therefore, why they felt it necessary to put this "miserable" review on the internet after the discretion shown at the hotel, that's folk for you!! This booking was an on line booking made just 4 days before arrival, we obviously had limited availabilty as all our large rooms and rooms with fabulous sea views were booked, many booked from last year by our regular guests. Please note that this room has been made unavailable for on line booking until it has been totally refurbished.

thoroughly enjoyed our stay. hotel on top of west cliff short walk downhill to the pier which may not suit everyone but fabulous views from the lounge and some bedrooms. The lift to the beach is within walking distance five minutes slow walking. service was friendly and helpful and rooms cleaned well. the room was pleasant and although it was on the road side of the hotel it was quiet. lovely lounge and cosy bar which was available all day. We had visitors one day and the hotel was only too happy to provide coffee and later tea. The food was reasonable but were between chefs but this has been remedied since.

I live in Bournemouth and my aunt came down on a coach tour, the hotel does need a little TLC, but inside its cosy warm and very friendly, my mum booked a couple of evening meals to be with her sister, and she said the food was wonderful, both of them enjoyed the food and they bent over backwards to be helpful and they even came out to wave of the coach, so if anyone one else that I know need a hotel, I would recommend them.

We have just returned from a five day break at this hotel. There were 33 of us and we loved it. It was warm, comfortable, staff were terrific food was good and the whole atmosphere was just so cosy and friendly. We had lovely rooms some with fantastic sea views and both the downstairs lounges also looked out over the sea. The bonus was somewhere to park the coach as usually coach parking is quite expensive. We loved it so much we have booked to return in the summer
