There's no one single thing about the Avalon Beach which makes it notable, just that almost everything is done well which adds to the feeling that you are being looked after. Whether it's the sumptuous linen, the plasma screen above the bed, the imac in the lounge free for guests to use or the quality of the fittings, there's a pervading air of quality to the hotel and a sign that the owners believe in things of quality.
Avalon Beach is the antithesis of what you normally find in British seaside accommodation.
Rooms are spacious, modern, clean, well appointed. We stayed in the annex which was quiet despite a full house from a hen night1
Paul and Trish are friendly and put you at ease. They also try and source as much of the food locally which makes for variety and the feeling that you are not in another chain.
Location is fabulous with two minutes walk to the beach.
Kids more than well catered for and welcome.
If only all seaside hotels could be like this.
