“Good value and clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

From the moment of booking, all staff were very helpful. The hotel is relatively basic but clean and functional. Our room had all we needed (clean beds, towels, kettle, hairdryer) including air conditioning. The bathroom was small but spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good and there was plenty of choice.

The staff made every effort to help. I asked one evening for beans on toast for my small child and it was provided immediately and willingly, depite the kitchen being closed.

If you are looking for a quiet convenient place to stay, this is good value. The lift doesn't work so request a ground floor room if you need.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the stairs. Rooms on the ground floor if you struggle with stairs.

# 3 floor building and no lift.
# We were given a room with a bed that is actually is a convertible sofa with a split in the middle. Within minutes of arriving we brought this to their attention the staff member was making sure we didn't touch the room. Sounded like it's a condition to be offered a replacement room.
# I think the room was over priced.
# They charge for WiFi! Signal was too weak and when we complained all they could say is they're going to reset the router which didn't work. We asked for refund.
# They charge for parking.
# They charge for breakfast, as if the rooms were not over priced already.
# Bathroom had one hook and it had mould growing around it.
# The shower curtain only goes in a square half way - no doubt sticks to the body which is uncomfortable especially when you don't know how clean it is.
# TV didn't work.
# Drinking cups were dusty.
# Old looking duvet covers.
# Tea bags offered were not the type that comes in a sachet. Hygiene not guaranteed.
# There is a note in the bathroom stating that to save water they are only going to wash the towels if placed in the bath tub, which we did. We came back to find the same towels were taken out of the bath tub and placed onto the rack. When we called them the staff member asked us to bring him the towels for him to see. When we showed him the towels he stated that they don't look that dirty to him but agrees to change them.
# Threatening note about charges e.g. damaged including make up stains. Also late check-out chargeable £10 if you're up to 30 minutes late.
# As we were leaving we noticed that the cleaner used towels as a door stopper in the corridor, makes you wonder if the towel you used to dry your face served that purpose before ending up in your room.

We were happy to run out of that place and never turn back!!!

Away with business and required a last minute hotel. Poor quality hotel that was found to be falling apart, unclean with appliances (air conditioning) unserviceable. Cancelled second night but still charged full price due to a 48hr cancellation policy! Not recommended.

The toilet didn't flush properly, the room had damp patches and the door to the bathroom didn't fit so it couldn't be closed properly. Anyone elderly should now the lift doesn't work but bearing in mind the woeful upkeep of the hotel the fact you can't use it is a good thing otherwise there is every chance you'd get stuck. The breakfast was dreadful, some of the staff were absolutely hopeless some of them don't seem to understand basic English and they are meant to serve you!!! Apparently the hotel has had a refurbishment I simply cant believe that is true. You have to pay 3.50 a day for parking but if you take your car out for the day your space isn't guaranteed so you may get back and have no space. The hotel is also expensive 250 for 4 nights it is the worst value hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world.

I would say to anyone thinking of staying at this hotel don't even at 20 pound a night it would be a rip off.

Just back from a conference in the Marriott in Bournemouth. Needed a cheep hotel close to that location for 4 nights and to be fair thats what I got (and nothing more). But boy was I happy when I walked out the door for the last time.....secure in the knowledge that I will NEVER return. It is old and smelly and the breakfast is miserable. The carpet had a huge wet patch, which took 3 days to dry!!! But the carpet in the en-suite bathroom was lovely & dry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Room 301 was smelly but quiet.

Stayed for 3 nights with my 2 young children , next time I am passing I will drop them a Hoover off as it's clear they don't own one. Asked about why the bedding hadn't been changed to be told " it's a 3 star hotel sir we only change the bedding once a week " the cups in the room were rinsed out and put back for us to use , the breakfast wasn't cooked my bacon was still squealing . Everything is dated and in need of repair or replacement . Filthy and unprofessional hotel ( bed and breakfast it should be ) do not stay here if you have children .
