Location was pretty good, right on the beach front (BAR THE 26434763783 BILLION stairs yoi have to walk up!). Swimming pool was a tad small but the sauna was decent. Room was size was good and overall customer service was ok.

When you walk into the hotel it does look impressive. The check in was efficient and friendly. We booked an evening meal for two nights and paid £18pppn for these. From this point things started to go downhill.

Our room was 125. A large room with two single beds, a sofa, table and chair plus a dressing table. No view at all, but as it was only two nights that wasn't a problem. The bathroom would be described by an estate agent as " compact". Outside of the window was an industrial fan unit that whirred and rattled all through the night. You could hear it whether the window was open or closed. If you are staying any length of time here, and are offered this room I suggest that you decline. The room was clean and tidy. However, the adverts say the rooms have been refurbished. I think they must have overlooked this one. Paintings scuffed, marks on the carpet and generally looking run down. I must say that the bath towels were great. Big and fluffy. Only one hand towel though. The usual soaps and shampoos etc.

Time for a meal. Large dining room which was a comfortable place to eat.The service was a bit slow, but the food was well worth the wait. I would advise anyone to book the meals on arrival and pay upfront as paying for them as you go would be much more expensive. We saved over £12. At the end of the meal we were presented with a bill even though we had already paid. t would seem that communications between reception and the restaurant were a bit laxed. The second night, even though we had booked a time and pre paid for the meal we were told that the restaurant staff had no knowledge of it, and they were busy as a coach party had arrived for their meal. A suggestion was made for us to go
to the bar for half an hour or so. No offer of free drinks for their mistake though. We declined and requested a refund of our payment. After a discussion we were finally given the refund and ate out. Breakfast was buffet and more than adequate.

We did not use the spa at all so I cannot comment on this area.

On checking out we were told that we had nothing to pay and had to point out that we had had two morning papers to be paid for.

All in all not a great experience for us and we would not stay here again. However, reading other reviews on this site we seem to be in the minority, so don't let these negative comments put you off. See for yourself.

Room Tip: Avoid 125 at all costs.

Staff were friendly, a large comfortable room, great breakfast. Hotel very near beach and within walking distance of some good restaurants. A few creaky floorboards in the bedroom but that was the only complaint!

We arrived today and wernt happy with our basic room with chipped paint. Also had a cream tea and wasn't offered an alternative to scones with raisins. ( I'm intolerant). I told Anita the manager and she immediately arranged for compliment at crumpets and moved out room to a lovely corner room with large t.v. No fuss, just an apology and great service. Anita had an excellent attitude, if only all managers were like this. Thank you Anita. We will be returning.

Thank you for you nice review and I am glad we managed to organise you a more suitable room and replace the scones with crumpets.

Your comments reading Anita are lovely and I know she will be really chuffed to read them.

Stayed for a couple of nights just after Easter. The hotel appears to have been recently refurbished and offers good value mid range accomodation. The Leisure Centre is a recent addition and was spotless.

Our room 126 was spacious and well presented, however views were limited and the bed was to say the least very soft....

Breakfast was good and all freshly cooked, cannot comment on dinner as we went out but menu looked good if a bit pricey....hotel would really benefit from a fixed price DBB menu!

Overall a good stay and would be more than happy to stay again as long as I got a harder bed!

Room Tip: Ask if school party is staying

Thank you for your nice review.

I take on board your comments about us benefitting from a fixed price menu. Up until last October this is what we had but we received a lot of feedback that guests wanted a more restaurant style menu and we introduced the menu you saw. It is being received well but I am sorry it did not fulfil your needs.

Thanks for your review and I am glad you had a great stay.

I realise it is not always fun staying away on business so I am pleased that my team made it a little bit more bearable.
