In a road lined with restaurants with a multitude of cuisines, this one stands out for its good value. When we arrived, all the other customers seemed to be Turkish, eating or drinking Turkish tea, which must be a good sign.
The decor is simple; tables and chairs are smart and kept clean; there are covers for scant 30 customers. The diner has no licence, but staff are happy to supply glasses & openers, at no extra cost.
We ordered mezze - a good selection, though no aubergines! A definite plus point was fresh, soft white bread - a huge improvement on the usual pide. Mains were a selection of kebabs, which went down very well, and a lovely bean and lamb stew, which reminded me strongly of meals at normal locantasi in Turkey - rich and tasty. The diner recommends its home-made baclava, which we had no room to try.
The best value option of the various Turkish diners in Charminster!
