“Solid 3 star hotel, would recommend for somewhere to stay in bournemouth.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2014

Me and the gf stayed here for a valentines day treat and have to say couldnt really fault the hotel at the price we paid. On booking.com we paid £40 for the room excluding breakfast. We werent looking for anything spectacular (hence the price) but just somewhere reasonably nice to sleep for our night out in bournemouth.

We arrived and the hotel has very large car park with plenty of spaces and this is free of charge. We checked in and the gentleman was very polite and swift. We were on the 2nd floor overlooking the side, no view as such although hear some rooms at the back have a nice view of the sea. The room was as standard as u wud expect in any 3 star. Nice tv with freeview, reasonably spacious, double bed was comfy and the room appeared very clean. The bathroom was very clean. The shower was a bit temperamental and soft but nothing new when staying in hotels of this age. That shower was the only fault of this room otherwise it certainly delivered. We checked in about 4pm and noticed the room quite cold but the heating was on. After an hour it heated up reasonably so i assume the heating is off until you check or until the earliest check in time.

The location of this hotel is a huge huge factor in why we stayed and at such a great price. Within 5 mins of city centre for any shopping or bars you want to go to. Likewise about a 5 - 7min walk to the beach, aruba and hot rocks which is where we ate.

Besides the huge storm bournemouth had we slept very well with no unsual disturbances as such. Check out 11am which is a nice touch as could sleep in for the morning. We checked out with no issues and they wished us a good on leaving.

My guide, I would happily have paid 60-65 pounds for a 3 star hotel. 70 - 80 a tad steep but in peak season i would pay this. To get this for 40 was a bargain but as i say, on a normal booking terms 60 - 70 quid would be fair. The hotel is not the ritz but the room was clean and delivered the standard we expected. We would stay again or recommend to friends visiting.

Room Tip: Many reviews say about a brilliant view so maybe ask if a room is available to have one at the back.

Stayed Nov 6th and 7th 2013. Arrived thinking we were the only ones to be staying as no other cars in the car park although when booking it stated that only a few rooms available. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the pool however it was spoilt by a myriad of plastic waste pipes. THe wife was hoping for a bath but unfortunatley this was not to be, as it was not busy we asked the duty manager if we could move rooms to one with a bath, this he did but only to be told that you need to ring the hotel if you want a room with a bath. The room given was on the ground floor, a family room no less. THe room was cold and id thought id gone back in time as the decor was somewhat dated and no double glazing. My wife was happy cause she had a bath until she saw the state of it, there were hairs on the wall how they got there i dont know because they were quite high can only think that they were transferred when the bath tub was cleaned. The grout was black in some places and the shower hose and head leaked. The so called bath towels were so small i couldnt get one round my waist ok im not a small lad but come on even my wife struggled. The wifi could only be accessed from the lounge area so i ended up using the free wifi from the hotel next door.
Breakfast on the Saturday morning was dissappointing to say the least table set for two but only one cup and saucer, the menu informed that the breakfast was cooked to order however when i recieved my cooked breakfast everything but the egg was cold served on a hot plate. on the whole very disappointed with the whole affair will not be going back.

Room Tip: Dont sy=tay there give it a miss!!!!!!!!

We were given a room at this Hotel as our original one was overbooked - we had a reservation but on arrival could not be given a room. This Hotel had a pool as per original reservation but an outdoor one which was seasonal so of course was unavaliable.
This Hotel looked ok on the outside and looked ok inside untill we went to the room given us. This room needed some updating. It was single glazed and cold with a broken shower rail and torn net curtains and as for the beds........................ by the time we had arrived at this hotel we were too tired to complain.
Breakfast was nice though, and the Hotel lady we dealt with was very good in accommadating us at short notice and keeping the price within our budget.

Found the staff to be very friendly. Room was a good size and clean. Ideal location for our night out and breakfast was good too.
Definitely recommended, has everything you need and would stay here again.

I booked a single room and it had a really comfortable double bed, result! However the bath was so narrow I was throwing all sorts of shapes trying to get out of it! A cobweb plus dust on the blinds, however I enjoyed my couple of days there despite the crap weather, the staff were friendly and helpful and a big plus is it's only minutes from the seafront and the town centre with local buses stopping outside. Breakfast was lovely. Having visited out of season (November), the outdoor pool was covered but looks like they have a nice sun terrace with sunbeds. The games room wasn't in use and smelt a little damp. I would say a bit of "doing-up" was needed but, in my experience, single rooms always seem to be left until last. I would definitely go back to this hotel. Check-in 2pm and check-out 11am but you can leave luggage if you need to.

Room Tip: If you like a bath, check if they are different sizes - I was in room 4 and it was very narrow and c...
