Having stayed at the Whitehall on many occasions over the last 10 years, I cannot stress enough the warm, friendly and helpful manner of all the staff. Having yesterday, departed from a Turkey and Tinsel weekend with the Shanklin Conservative Club (IoW), I am still on a high from the wonderful atmosphere of the whole weekend and of course, the food. The staff go out of their way to help you and make your stay an experience you will never forget. My special thanks to Sara and Bernard for running their hotels (I must not forget the Arlington) in such a way that you feel part the family. The Garden of Lights; Christmas market stalls in the Square and the short distance to the beach, make this Hotel a must if you are wanting a relaxing few days or just a short break.

My wife and I have stayed at The Whitehall a number of times and have experienced a warm, friendly and comfortable atmosphere, a great choice on the menu followed up with gastronomic delights at a very reasonable price. As bowls tour organisers we were particularly grateful for the help of the 'Bowlaway' Organisation.
The location of the Hotel is excellent backing onto the gardens and very close to Bournemouth pier. Perfect.

Having stayed at the Whitehall for a number of years both on a personal level and as a bowls tour organiser, I can only say that you need look no further than the Whitehall Hotel in Bournemouth. You are ideally situated for the Bournemouth International Centre, Town Centre or the beach.
From the moment that you arrive you are greeted by warm friendly staff, you have all your worries taken away from you, and you can relax in a choice of two extremely comfortable lounges while waiting for your room.
Your room will be comfortable and relaxing, and the excellent choices that you have at meal times cater for all requirements, and the bar area is an ideal place to relax with a drink before or after dining, with a fantastic view over the gardens.
The location of the hotel means that you can walk through the hotels pleasant gardens down to Bournemouth Lower Gardens where you have a choice of either a five minute down to the pier or into the town for retail therapy.
Nothing is too much trouble for any of the Whitehall staff, and you relax from the moment you arrive until the time you leave.
I can definitely say that I shall be returning.

Weekend away? Want a place to stay that's clean and comfortable without costing the earth? If you answered "yes" then I can recommend the Whitehall Hotel, it's very well located - right by the pier and overlooking the central gardens -the staff are pleasant and helpful and the hotel is clean and tidy. The single rooms are very well priced and easy to access - there's a lift to every floor. The public rooms are nice - comfortably furnished with plenty of comfy chairs and lots of books and magazines to look through whilst waiting for friends or dinner. I'd advise taking a small car since the car park - like most in Bournemouth - is compact and bijou - but once at the hotel it's possible to walk to most of the attractions (and the beach!). I certainly hope to return there.

Room Tip: Ask about the special offers and ask for a room overlooking the gardens.

We spent a weekend with a group in this friendly hotel which is pleasantly located near the gardens. The standard of cleanliness of both our room and bathroom was good although the mattresses were lumpy and sagged in the middle. The meals were good, with plenty of choices, even at breakfast. The waiting staff were cheerful and friendly. The car park was not big enough for a hotel of this size, so, car sharing would be advised!
