“Fantastic hotel - highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2014

I have always admired this hotel from afar as I grew up in the area. Many happy childhood memories of walking through the chine gardens and looking up at this beautiful hotel.
So when I got engaged it was naturally the first place we went to look at and we fell in love with it.
It's charming, comfortable and the staff are very welcoming. They couldn't have been more helpful in the build up to the big day and on the day itself. The staff are extremely hardworking and professional and we are very grateful for all they did for us.
The rooms are spacious and the ones with a balcony and sea view are stunning.
The food is lovely and the facilities are fantastic - spa, pool etc.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Sea view balcony rooms are the best!

we just came back yesterday after our one night break at the Chine hotel,
we were just nervous and worried as it was our first little holiday in the UK and booked it just 7 hours before we left the home.
However it was a great stay, location is good and they gave us room 407 which has a great ocean view,
we loved the outside swimming pool and the hot tub. breakfast was good they have plenty of choice and dinner was ok just little bit pricey for what you can have.

definately you can not get bored at hotel, they have outside and inside swimming pool which are god sizes, outside hot tub, inside jakuzzi and sauna, mini gym and a nice bar with the ocean view,

i definetely recommend and going back after they open again at the end of march

We stayed one night, did not use pool etc so can't comment on that. Buffett breakfast was excellent. Staff friendly, polite and helpful.
Booked standard double, which was a very good size. Bed comfy.
Only cons were that the corridors of the hotel were like a sauna, which made our room hot too.

We stayed here for a long weekend, although the staff were polite I found them to be a little offish, the room although clean was a little shabby,it could do with painting and carpets cleaning, the whole hotel could do with being refurbished, that said the food was lovely and the swimming pool was fine, would we stay again not sure

Room Tip: Don't eat at the Haervester on the front at Boscombe it was dreadful

My partner booked this as a stopover base for us and our two children aged 12 &8 as we were travelling around various places doing the typical sightseeing bit. Upon arrival we checked in and I saw there was this big easel notice board for various things that were on in the hotel for the half term week with a wide variety of different things on offer. At reception the kids were given wristbands like you get in an all inclusive which allowed them to go to any of the events, this was at NO EXTRA COST! We were given our room which we were allocated in the West Wing of the building which is not the main hotel but just across the car park. Feeling a bit disappointed at not being in the main hotel we made our way up to our room on the first floor. The room was lovely and spacious and clean with a double bed and then a little separate room to the side with sliding doors with bunk beds. The view from our room was amazing you could see the sea in the distance and an outdoor pool, which we ventured down to thinking it would be a bit chilly in it seeing as it is the end of October, and to our amazement it was like being in a nice warm bath and a great size also. We went to the evening entertainment with the kids it felt like you was abroad. Will definitely repay a visit in the near future.

I booked this hotel for a saturday night stay as a birthday treat for my husband, when we arrived we saw there was a wedding on and were advised that we couldn't have the option to dine at the hotel that night as we'd only booked bed and breakfast, not a good start but we checked in and were taken to our room. The furniture belonged on a skip it was threadbare and dirty, my husband complained and we were moved to a better room, still shabby and in need of a deep clean and refurb, (meant to happen in November) when we turned on the taps there was hot and cold runnig BROWN water.
Breakfast was ok .
Its a shame as the gardens were nice and the location to the beach really good but the rooms are shocking.
Apologies to my husband!

We visited. The Chine last Friday night and were pleasantly surprised with the hotel in general.
The hotel was fully booked due to a couple of wedding receptions being held on the Saturday . At first when we wanted a table for dinner the receptionist said they were fully booked, so my wife pointed out that as a guest they had to find us a table which they did. The restaurant has an AA rosette and I must say the food was very goog , but the portions were a little small . The restaurant staff were very good friendly and nothing was too much trouble . The bar staff were not able to cope with the amount of people trying to order drinks . The room was fine , a little too hot but comfortable and in the morning the breakfast was buffet style and self service. As long as you like the older style of hotel then you will like The Chine . Lovely views from the restaurant to the sea, surrounded by beautiful trees and a quiet location . Not a hotel for the trendy !

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony overlooking the sea
