“Love this local gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

A must visit by locals, a very over looked local attraction, I've lived here all of my life and only visited for the first time last year with an art class! I loved the paintings, the step back in time nature of the rooms, the busts, the garden, the architecture great little cafe too!

“Interesting & quirky”

Well worth a look, a museum with a difference because of the love story behind the building and all the amazing things to see. Nice cafe and lovely gardens.

“Lovely thought provoking Place!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

Magnificent collections of artefacts, whacky and wonderful!. Embodies the concept of the Victorian collector, everything from the Early New Zealand visits of Cook et al, to art work, porcelain and a wonderful mix of both the educational and the beautiful. 5 minutes walk from the pier, with lovely views over the bay, this is one that is essential if you visit Bournmouth. Staff are friendly and helpful, though some of the more interesting artefacts are not marked

“An unexpected Gem.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Hidden away on the east cliff road behind the Royal bath Hotel is a small but very interesting museum showing the early history of Bournemouth and the Russell- Cotes family. Well worth a visit for a couple of hours.

A real mixture of items from all over the world, something for everybody. Pity the coffee shop was closed.

Thank you for your review. Just wanted to let you know that our exciting new cafe will be opening in late March 2013. This will follow a major refurbishment and unfortunately our cafe is currently closed. As you found tThe museum, galleries and garden are open as usual though!
