“Too hot!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

Great seafront location plenty of parking free wifi. The staff were friendly bar service was good we were there for a function and everything ran smoothly.
My one moan is the bedroom ok for size tea and coffee making tray toiletries hairdryer etc... but so hot and stuffy they do provide electric fans which helps with the heat but then you have to put up with the noise of the fan.
Breakfast was ok we were a large party but the restocking of the buffet was rather slow and quite a few people stood around waiting for eggs.
The fire alarm going of at 7-7.30 sunday morning was not the best start to the day proved to be a false alarm but no staff appeared on our floor to tell us this.

Stayed here for one night 27-4-2013. Lovely staff quick check in room very nice and clean.
Lovely position right opposite the pier. Free parking and wi-fi.
We had lunch and dinner there and both were very good the downside was the dinner service was very slow. The head waiter had to keep on at the very young staff to do things and it was no better at breakfast the next morning . Saying that we would go back there again.

We stayed here recently for just one night, our third stay at the Hermitage. Check in staff were very professional and efficient. We had a lovely corner room overlooking the sea. Dinner in the restaurant was good, but I thought the portion sizes a little disappointing. Breakfast was fine, it is a buffet, but the quality was fine. If I had one small criticism it was the quality of the wi-fi, it was extremely slow. Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and keen to help. The location of the hotel is excellent, right opposite the pier. We will return, hopefully soon.

We had a great time with our stay in Bournmouth at this hotel and thoroughly recommend it. Brilliant value for money - couldn't ask for more :-) lovely breakfast. Fab spacious family room with our baby, so she had plenty of space to run around.
Well done & thank you :-)

On our first visit to the Hermitage we were impressed with the welcome (excellent porter) and the high standard of the decor and facilities. A spotless room on the ground floor, though the bed was too small (a small double - when a King Sized should be the norm). Bathroom was A1.

Good night's sleep marred by antisocial, selfish behaviour of other guests at 2am.

Breakfast was fantastic; loads of choice, constant replenishment of the hot dishes and a wonderfully efficient and friendly restaurant manager - Giles. Checkout was simple and the free parking never a problem.

A huge amount has been spent on this hotel and it deserves to do well. Excellent location next to the BIC, Pavilion, Sea Front and Lower Gardens.

Room Tip: For a sea view avoid the ground floor!

Having had an excellent meal at this hotel last year we decided to stay there on our next trip and we couldn't be more delighted. It was very easy to park, and check in was very easy after a long and tiring journey. The receptionist was very polite and helpful.
Our very large room on the first floor was lovely with fantastic views over the Pier and Bay. Being a back sufferer I was surprised how comfortable the bed was.
The hotel restaurant was excellent far better than its One Rosette suggests, the dining area is very spacious and pleasant. The icing on the cake are the very polite and professional staff that were well marshalled by a very efficient and friendly head waiter.
The Hotel is an absolute gem and would put many Five Star Hotels to shame, we can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Try and get a sea view, waking up to beautiful view is worth it.
