As group leader for 7 ladies attending a Conference at the BIC booked this hotel two years ago to ensure we could get in!
From the minute this initial booking was made the staff I have been in contact with have been efficiant and above all, friendly and helpful.
Our stay went exceedingly well. All our rooms were excellent, spacious and nicely decorated. The bathrooms were clean and well provided with towels and we all loved the "ducks"! If there was a downside it was lack of a fridge, but this would probably be more of a gripe had it been hotter. All the public rooms are nicely decorated and pleasing to relax in.
On arrival we had sandwiches which were beautifully prepared and very tasty.
The choice of menu for the evening meals was varied. Everyone's meals were served on piping hot plates, a rarity in itself, looked good and without exception tasted good! I couldn't resisit sampling the "crepes" from the al a carte menu, ok so they weren't done at the table but the result was still excellent.
Usually when at conference the one meal which generally lets hotels down is breakfast, to many people, to little time and insufficient planning by hotels. This was certainly not the case at the Hermitage! For the first time ever it was leisurely and stress free! OK so sometimes plates ran out and so did some of the food but all were speedily replenished even at the busiest time.
Every member of staff we came into contact with was friendly and above all smiling! Maria in reception and Charles in the restaurant seem to be "fixtures" but are always smiling, efficient and above all friendly.
Did it seem like a guest house? Far from it, it felt like it was comfortable and welcoming.
Would we return, well I have already booked a return visit and the group are eagerly talking about another stay!
Well done to the Hermitage, like everything you can't please all the people all the time!
