“Superb Food, Excellent Service, Reasonable Prices. What More Could You Want?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

We visited the Amalfi restaurant on recommendation from our hotel receptionist. The staff were very polite and efficient and we received our food very quickly despite the restaurant being extremely busy. The food was exceptional, fresh and tasty. The best Italian meal I have had in a long time. The menu is extensive with a wide price range to suit all budgets. We opted for pasta dishes that were reasonably priced and received generous portions. It was good to see fresh fruit on the menu for dessert. I opted for fresh pineapple which was soaked in maraschino liqueur, very refreshing. A lovely meal to end the day.
The only niggle, and nothing to do with the restaurant directly, was the inevitable office party. There's always one, isn't there? You know ... the gob on a stick. The one that always has to make himself heard to all and sundry. The one with a constant bellowing of inane drivel and the odd profanity dropped in. If you work with one of these creatures, then I pity you. If you are one of these creatures, just stop and consider how you annoy other people. Oh ... sorry, consideration isn't in your mental capacity is it?

“Everything Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

We found this restaurant by looking on Trip Advisor and are glad that we gave it a go.My husband and I were having a short break in Bournemouth and this was the perfect start to our break. To start we had minestrone soup and clams with spaghetti, the clams being large, succulent and perfectly cooked. As we adore our Italian food, and particularly our seafood,we had a middle course to share of scallops which, again, were perfectly cooked. For mains we both had the veal chop special, which was cooked with mushrooms and was devine, the meat being tender and full of flavour. One of the previous reviewers had commented that the restaurant is downstairs and felt like it was like being in a cellar but I disagree with that.I think if you are getting perfect service and outstanding food, which we certainly did, these are the important things, and I certainly could see nothing wrong with the decor or layout of the restaurant in general. In essence,a truely enjoyable evening with beautiful authentic food along with first class service, and we shall certainly return next time we are in the area.

“Without Fault”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

Came across this place as it was attached to our hotel. We made two visits during our stay and it was excellent. The staff were very friendly and very efficient, the food was without fault and all at a very reasonable price. Would recommend without hesitation

“Lovely meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

My wife and I were staying at a hotel nearby and chanced upon the Amalfi by accident.
What a piece of luck - we had a fantastic meal with great wine and at the eand a reasonable bill!!
The staff were very attentive without being in your face and whilst the restaurant appears to be in the basement of a hotel once you are inside it is delightful.
We would definately return.
