My friend and I have recently spent a very happy and enjoyable time at The Cliffeside Hotel. We loved the seafront location, the swimming pools, the professional staff and the delicious food so nicely presented.
Our room with delightful sea view was very clean and comfortable.
Our cars were easily parked in the spacious car parks and the centre of town is a beach front stroll away.
The Cliffeside is one of three adjoining sister hotels, and guests are welcome to use the facilities of all three. There is nightly entertainment which would appeal to a wide age range.
We look forward to our next visit!

Just got back from a short vacation to meet up with old friends, decided at last minuite to stay over, what a surprise ! Never thought it would have been such a friendly place to stay. The atmospere was so warm and friendly nothing too much trouble.Having arrived quite tired, I was shown my room by a very helpful young guy.Had a room with a view which was a bonus as i never booked sea view. We ate in the bar area which was fine a little crowded as they were busy but non the less they accomodated us the food well presented. We never left the bar. Breakfast was another great feature, what a choice you couldn't ask for more. Well done to all the staff for the great time we had. We will be back on our next reunion,

Room Tip: views brilliant

we search for weeks to find a quick short break, and by god was it worth it. The room was standard the bathroom was big, staff were so helpful and had a great sense of humor even helped us with are bags with no extras cost. My other half loved the breakfast i did too, they had a cold buffet and a cook breakfast that was buffet style but was served to you (you could still have as much as you want), there was a selection of thing they cooked on request if your a vegie (i am) or you just wanted something else, which you only had to wait five minuets for (which i though was great). The hotel it's self was quiet and relaxing it is joint up with Cumberland and Suncliff (joint next door) where you can go for the indoor pool and you can use all their facilities, The Hotel is right in the middle of Bournemouth peir ( very buzy) and Boscombe Pier (buzy) both beaches were great, and only 20 minuets depends on how fast you walk, and even though you need to walk up and down a cliff to get to the beaches it didn't bother me and i suffer from lots of health problems, it helped to know if i wanted to hire a mobility scooter i could and this is a service they offer in the hotel it also hase a stair lift outside for people that have trouble with stairs. Although we only went for 3 nights we had a lovely stay everyone was helpful friendly we could just not fault one thing, what a great short breat away, we are very relaxed, thank you all the staff at Cliffeside Hotel. I have just done the rateing where i put not sure is because i never used this service.

I forget exactly what the booking site described the room as, but it was along the lines of 'Superior Double Room with Ocean View'. In reality it was just large enough to walk around the double bed and was on the end of the hotel, with one window looking down the coast towards Boscombe. The other windows looked inland, although one of them was so badly fogged you couldn't really look through it.
It was a warm weekend so we opened the windows to find there was a large piece of air handling plant somewhere very close by that whistled away 24/7.
The en-suite was below par to say the least and in general the decor throughout was tired.
Breakfast was standard fare of help-yourself cereals, fruit juices and toast and the usual full english staples being served to your selection, though whilst we were there it seemed impossible to coordinate everything, i.e. there were no eggs, or when there was, there were no sausages. Not a big problem but symptomatic of the place.
Reception was fairly friendly and the bar man efficient.
Unbeknown to us Bournemouth was hosting a gay, lesbian and transgender pride march on the weekend we stayed. The hotel is g, l & tg friendly, which is fine by us and it certainly provided a few sights to behold over breakfast in the dining room: quite reminiscent of a Les Dawson sketch!
Overall it was disappointing - we've had much better elsewhere for the amount paid, so will not be going back.

Room Tip: We asked if we could get a better room but were told that they're more or less all the same.

Thank you for your comments on Trip Advisor. We are a typical Sea Side Resort hotel all our rooms are of 3 Star quality, Yes some rooms may be smaller than others but this is an older style building not your conventional Travel Lodge. I am suprised at your comments regarding our breakfast buffet, on occasion things do run out but are quickly replenished. The whole weekend I personally was in and around the restaurant at all times and you didn't bring this to my attention. Your adverse comments regarding some of our guests is a little unfounded ! what happend to live and let live. This is the 21st century after all.

This was my third stay at the cliffeside and best so far. Called and booked over the phone, arrived Friday late afternoon and was greeted by friendly reception staff. Room/bathroom were clean. We all had a quick shower and went down for a wonderful 3 course meal. The staff were friendly and polite and food and service were brilliant as always. The staff were very attentive to our 2 year old and made sure she was comfortable. After a long walk we all slept like babies the first night. The breakfast was also wonderful, with lots to choose and eat. The freshly made croissant's were especially delicious. Trevor who is the manager at the hotel was very nice and helpful through out our stay, he would always come over at dinner/breakfast time to see how our stay was going, he was always available when we needed. After a long day out on Saturday we came back to a full car park, how ever Trevor was at hand to make some space so we did not have to go out and again and find parking. Trevor also let us leave our car in the car park after checking out on Sunday, which again was very helpful. I have recommended the cliffeside in the past and shall continue to do so. It has a perfect location, friendly and helpful staff who are willing to add that personnel touch, good food and a clean room with beds to sleep on! Thanks for a wonderful and hassle free stay.

Stayed at the cliffeside as part of a multi night tour, I have to say I was very impressed. On arrival I first thought, oh normal seaside hotel but from check-in to check-out everything was fantastic. Reception was helpful and chatty, the service in the restaurant a little slow at times but they made up for it with smiles and amazing food that would not look out of place in a 5 * establishment. The Manager, Linda was very pleasent and helped with our cases on the last day. We then stayed at thier sister Hotel in Devon for a few nights which was just as good. We will return!!!

my husband and i stayed at the cliffeside for 2 nights, 20th and 21st july....we just wanted a couple of days away and we did not know what to expect. we had booked on line for a bed and breakfast stay. when we arrived i was impressed with the location of the hotel. check in was friendly and helpful. the lounge and bar area looked very warm and welcoming. our room was ok, maybe needed a little updating and decorating, but very cosy. the breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and the staff were very polite and attentive...lovely restaurant. we had dinner at the hotel the 2nd night which again was excellent. the hotel is located along bournemouth seafront so it is easy to access the beach on the undercliff, we did alot of walking...into bournemouth town. all in all a lovely short break and a very nice hotel. we would definitely stay there again.
