We booked this hotel after reading other reviews on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. We had two rooms, one for my husband and I and a family room for our daughter, son-in-law and two small grandchildren. The family room was a little small and could have done with a bit more storage, however, the children loved their bunk beds. Our rooms were on the top floor and they were very hot, but then we were lucky enough to be staying during a mini heatwave! Room info tells you fans are available and sure enough staff were happy to bring a fan up to our rooms as soon as we asked. Both rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Rooms were made up quickly each day.
Food was very good - the buffet style breakfast offered everything you might want, it was nicely presented, hot food was hot and fresh, and staff ensured that all dishes were topped up with fresh supplies throughout service. We ate in both the bar and the restaurant in the evenings and the food in both was very good. Children are made welcome in both the lounge bar and restaurant and the little ones enjoyed all their meals. Service was efficient and friendly.
The indoor pool was a big hit with our daughter who went for an early morning swim each day before most people were about, and with the grandchildren who enjoyed a dip later each day.
However, the best thing about this hotel is the fantastic staff team. They really do go the extra mile. Everyone managed the balance of professional efficiency and friendly helpfulness with skill.
The duty manager was really on the ball, you could see that he knew exactly what was happening and managed his staff team in a relaxed and hands on way, working alongside them in the restaurant and bar. A special mention for Suzie who worked in the lounge bar, she was great with the children and when our grandson was poorly late one afternoon she ran next door to the Dr's surgery and arranged for the GP to see him! Thank-you Suzie.
There is ample parking at the hotel which is a great plus because parking in the town is not cheap. There is a £2.00 per day charge for parking at the hotel but this money goes to a local children's hospice so this was a win win situation as far as we were concerned. We did not need to move the car at all during our stay as the location of the hotel is perfect - the beach, parks, town and amusements are all within easy walking distance even for out 3 and 6 year old grandchildren.
All in all this hotel is a great place for a family holiday.
