“Our fantastic Wedding at the Connaught”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2010

My husband and I looked around at so many venues for our wedding. We had 130 guests and some of them had a long way to travel so they needed to stay over.
We decided on the Best Western Connaught as the manager, Paul was absolutely brilliant and made sure we were happy with everything in advance. We met the chef and had a full tour.
On the day we couldn't believe how brilliant the staff were. We didn't even need to ask for anything as they just seemed to know what was needed and did it immediately.
Our wedding ceremony was watched by all 130 guests in the most wonderful surroundings of the wedding hall with lovely chandeliers and perfectly decorated chairs. We all then went outside in their beautiful courtyard, which was the perfect backdrop to all our photos, which are now all in a lovely album! During that photo shoot they had re-arranged the room and set it out for 130 guests to sit and eat. The food was just fantastic and amazingly fresh! They provided huge amounts of food so no one went without, which we thought was very important as it was everyones main meal.
Our honeymoon suite was fantastic and had everything you could possible need and was very spacious.
So many of our guests commented on how wonderful the venue and staff had been and many of us stayed over for 2 or 3 nights so we had plenty of opportunity to use their gym and pool, which was great to relax!
The prices were so brilliant as many other hotels that we looked at were nothing in comparison and still wanted a fortune. Sometimes you just get that mad pricing strategy from places when you say you want to book a wedding and they load up the price! The Connaughts were all set out in advance and there were no surprises afterwards as what we budgeted for was exactly what we paid.
If you would like the most memorable and fantastic wedding day and evening then I can guarantee you that the Connaught is the place to hold it.
It was the best day of our lives thanks to Paul and his staff. Thank you all.

This was my second trip to the Connaught this summer, and although I was most impressed on my first visit, it has got even better over the last four months.
There is a new chef and the food really was exceptional, definately not what you expect from a 3star hotel, and the restaurant was full to overflowing both nights with breakfast being so popular it overflowed into the lounge!
Once again what really made our trip special were the staff, they were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much bother.
Our room last time was great, but no 9 is now my favourite, a large room, beautifully designed with a large balcony overlooking the terrace, a real gem and certainly not a 3 star room, I have stayed in in 4/5 star hotels with rooms not half as nice as this!

All in all, a great hotel: great food, great staff, great rooms, great pool, but somewhere you feel at home instantly

I stayed at the Connaught Hotel in mid August with a group of friends and family(20 in all) to celebrate my 60th birthday. The hotel management and staff were extremely helpful with the arrangements from start to finish. The food was excellent and I could not fault either restaurant or bar staff.
Throughout our stay the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has good management.
The Connaught Lodge is great value as it gives guests a lower price room with the use of facilities of the main hotel,(quite a unique situation) and although some of the rooms are a little tired I believe they are upgrading them slowly. I have stayed in both the Hotel and the Lodge and enjoyed both.

My friend and I arrived about l pm and asked if we could leave the car, we were told that our room was ready so we went straight up to room. We had a twin room with a balcony. The bathroom was gleaming, the sheets and towels nice and clean and fresh. We had a bar snack and sat out in the beautiful courtyard, the waiter was so helpful, we said we were experts on Costa Coffee so he asked us to compare his coffee, my friend said hers was very good, mine was not quite as good as it was a soya latte, but he said he wasnt quite happy with it so he took it to make another. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at this hotel, they are so friendly, obliging, and made our stay very pleasant. The food was fantastic, the breakfast was really good, plenty of choice and hot food served by member of staff. All in all a very pleasant stay, would definitely recommend to others.

I stayed with my family in August 2010 for a 80th birthday celebration. Our large family group had family with a variety of ages from teenagers to 80 year olds. We had a fantastic time. The staff were the most courteous I have ever met and made our stay memorable. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a large family meal in the restaurant on the Saturday night in a secluded part of the restaurant and the food was fantastic. We had a superb meal, champagne, birthday cake and all was served with the utmost professionalism and I couldn't fault anything. They even asked that evening if all 13 of us would like to sit together for breakfast Sunday morning - this they arranged and recognised each one of our party as we arrived at different times for breakfast the next day. I don't think I have stayed in a hotel where all the staff were courteous, polite and welcoming. Well done!

Revisited the Connaught Hotel at the August Bank Holiday weekend. Still has all the good points since our stay earlier in the year. We were met by good reception staff who said we had the sme room as before. Some staff still the same in the restaurant and Leisure Club which again is fine for all types of user. Staff in bar and food all great and helpfull. Managed by Nicki and his right hand man Cedric. Food maybe not as well presented as before since the chef had noved and the charging extra for veg etc is not a good policy for guests we did not feel. Overall the eating experince is still great and it is a hotel worth a visit for Bournemouth visitors. Will certainly be back for my early moring swim!!

We have just had a fabulous week at this Hotel, the service was first class from the moment we arrived, until the moment we left. It is clear that the Connaught team all get on really well and are absolutely focussed on delivering a top end experience to their guests, this was certainly the case for us as the whole experience was faultless, well done to you all.
