“Overnight Stay and Wedding in the grounds of The Langtry Manor Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

This is a beautifully maintained hotel, full of character and furnishings which blend well with the style and age of the buiding made famous by Lillie Langtry. The staff were courteous, helpful and extremely hard working. My wife and I stayed just the one night ahead of a friends wedding, held in the grounds of the hotel - a truly memorable experience. The meal which followed the wedding ceremony was held in "The Lodge" an adjacent building with ample garden space also owned by The Langtry Manor Hotel. Again the staff were superb in making sure everything was as it should be for "The big day".

The manor is a lovely historic house and the perfect romantic setting for a wedding. What could be more romantic that saying I do in the lovenest of a King?! So glad that you enjoyed your brief stay with us, hopefully you can return for longer next time.

We stayed here for the Bank Holiday weekend. I have to say that the staff were very good from the moment we arrived. We had the Lillie Langtry room which used to be part of Lillie's own quarters. Very comfortable bed and pillows, with a whirl pool in the room. The only issue was it took around an hour to fill. We booked on a bed and breakfast basis, and the breakfast was excellent. The whole hotel and that sort of warm and cosy feeling including the lounge bar area

I was given a Pass to a local hotel 5 minutes walk away where they had a swimming pool, Sauna and Steam room, and gym. In addition a Pass to Fitness First Bournemouth, and I actually took part in two Spin Bike Classes there, great facilities. We will definately be going back to this hotel for a weekend break

Room Tip: Be aware there is no lift at the hotel because it is a listed building, may cause a problem for some...

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. The Lillie Langtry is a gorgeous room, and while it does take a while to fill the heart shaped jacuzzi tub, we think it is worth the wait! Delighted to hear that you enjoyed your breakfasts and that our fabulous team looked after you. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

My Husband and I stayed here for our 34th wedding anniversay, we were originally staying in a beach front hotel, but I came across this hotel and I was so impressed by reviews I cancelled the original hotel and booked into this one, definatly a good choice.
We stayed in the Jersey Lillie Room, on walking through the door you just sank into the carpet the pile was so deep, the room was lovely and warm and most comfortable.there was a single red rose on the bed and chocolates. The heated bathroom floor was lovely when you got out of the spa bath.
Our Daughters arranged Afternoon Tea for us, this is a treat not too be missed.
We had an evening meal in the resturant, and the peppercorn sauce was delicious, and the waitress was lovely she was bright and bubbly, she brought out two swan meringues for our anniversay, it was a anniversary to remember. We will definately be coming back and we have told our family and friends if they want something special this is the place to go. Well done to all the staff for making this hotel so special.

Room Tip: Any of the named rooms.

This was booked on a discount voucher. We paid an amazingly low rate for a 2 night weekend break. It was amazing. Lovely room though small we were asked prior to arrival if we wanted to upgrade. Breakfast was superb. Locality is nice and quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommend this one. Lots of history to the building. Go on give it a go. You will return.

After our recent marriage on May 18th we decided to head to Bournemouth for two nights, after checking into a beachfront hotel in which was described as their best room, we quickly checked back out! Leaving us with nowhere to stay! After looking on trip advisor I saw Langtry manor, it looked absolutely perfect, the romantic place I was hoping for! On ringing Langtry and being greeted with the friendliest receptionist who had to hear my wife's story about having nowhere to stay and had they any vacancies we were told to just head straight to them! On entering the manor it was perfect, they even gave us a free upgrade due to our situation and recent marriage, we stayed in 'the gold cup' the room had a four poster bed and a jacuzzi, ideal for what we wanted. The room the grounds and whole building was kept to the highest standards. We opted for breakfast in bed the next morning which was delicious, so we booked a table for the restaurant that evening. The manor is a short walk from Bournemouth and the beach. We were lucky to have good weather so enjoyed many walks. All the staff were helpful, attentive and would go out their way to make sure we had a great stay. When entering the restaurant we were taken to the bar from here our order was taken and within no time at all our food was ready and we were shown to our table. The waitress was very funny and helpful making us enjoy our evening even more so. After we had eaten we opted to go back to the bar where we were greeted with two swan meringues with sparklers in,! Such a thoughtful gesture, and a certificate congratulating our recent marriage. This was a lovely personal touch and took us aback. The food was absolutely perfect and great value for money. We then decided to read the history and look through Lille Langtry mini museum, very interesting and nice to know the history of the manor. Thank you to all the staff for making our two night stay a stay to remember.
