4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

What a lovely surprise, I was not expecting such a nice Hotel our room was clean and comfortable the staff were helpful and polite and the food was lovely, what else do you want for a weekend stay.
The Hotel is a short distance walk to the beach, park and shops, very convenient.

Room Tip: Any Hotel is going to have some noise. Other guests are usually to blame not the hotel or if the ho...

We booked this hotel through their website and payed £22 for a night. The initial room that we were given on the first floor was a bit noisy as the floorboards are creaky and the walls are thin. They kindly moved us to a quieter room onthe top floor. The room and sheets were clean and the beds comfortable. There was a bath and shower with sachets of showergel and shampoo. There is a haridryer and tea making facilities. The location was very good, a few mintues walk to restaurants in the centre and about 10-15 minutes to the beach. We would stay again.

Room Tip: Top Floor for quiet rooms

just returned from holiday in bournemouth by david ogden holidays, the mayfair hotel is very nice and welcoming very pleasant staff and superb meals, the holiday included a packed lunch each day and £1 drinks every night at the bar.spotless clean room and bathroom would recomend for inexpensive holiday.

Occasionally stay in the city centre so we can both have a drink. For the money, this hotel is superb. (10x better than the one in previous reviews from me on same road).

Reception and facilities are all quite modern. The lift is a little scary. The room was clean, and for £40 a night was ok.

Hotel was quiet which was very good.

Night porter was rude, he got funny because we took keys out when no1 was on reception and small sign on door was unclear of hotels request. Was a bit shocked, he could do with a customer service course.

Apart from that, will stay again when we need a base in bournmouth.

Everything in the room was old shabby and worn out even had the old smell to go with it. Plastic cups in the bathroom. The room was dusty and dirty. This hotel is in serious need of refurbishment. Staff were lazy, unfriendly and unhelpful and in fact down right rude. Called several times to reception but there was no answer but once I did i thought I was going to get my head chewed off. Had to wait ages to get served in the bar but at least the bar and reception was clean. TV was years old and only had a couple of stations. Not claustrophobic but thought I was not going to breathe in the lift. Thought I was getting a bargain by the fantastic view of the website but the only similarity was the throw on the bottom of the bed. Think twice before you book this hotel because you will be dissapointed. The only good thing that I can say about this hotel is that it is ideally situated in Bournemouth which is a pity as it could have huge potential.

Room Tip: Noise was not a problem

We booked this with only 3 days notice and paid a very reasonable price for one night's stay. The standard of the hotel was well above expectation for the price paid and we were very impressed. The room was nicely decorated and the bathroom modern, all very clean, good sizes. The public spaces downstairs were also modern and comfortable.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is very well positioned for a stay in Bournemouth and we wanted to stay for longer.
We will return.
The room was rather warm, and we should have opened our window, even in November!

Room Tip: Open your window at night, especially if you've had a little drink!
