“Fantastic Food but FREEZING COLD”

First time visiting Korean Grill but really like korean BBQ so thought I would try out with one friends. There was only 1 waiter and the restaurant was FREEZING cold, almost antarctic. I hate when restaurants and shops alter the temperature to suit the staff, rather than the customers and this was probably the case. Did not speak up about it, however I got the feeling from the waiter that they wouldn't care anyway (as is the case with most asian restaurants).

The restaurants soon filled up, although we got there soon after opening and several Koreans came in, indicating it should be good. We had no idea how much to order although I estimated - thankfully the perfect amount. After ordering, I asked the waiter if that would be a suitable amount for four people and his response was "i don't know, i don't know how much you can eat". This was ridiculous. You would think a waiter would have some CLUE on the average person's portion size, but he was COMPLETELY useless in helping to order. He stated that one portion of BBQ meat is meant for one person, however we only order two as we were ordering other dishes to and decided to share the BBQ meat. Thank god for my own common sense, unfortunately this waiter lacked any.

The food - the most important part - was fantastic. The meat was marinated to perfection and the waiter cooked it for us. Luckily, unlike other reviewers all our food came out at the same time. The other issue I had was the pathetic amount of lettuce for £2.00. Again we asked how much lettuce we'd get and whether it would be enough for 4 people - he said "I don't know how much lettuce you'd eat" well OF COURSE you don't but take an educated guess based on the thousands of other people you've served previously??!

We also had dumplings , which were very yummy, and the kimchi was good too. This was the only banchan dish we ordered as we didn't want to over-order however, I would order more next time.

The food was so good I would return, but next time I will bring my down jacket, scarf, gloves and a hat - and thankfully now I know the portion sizes so will be able to order the suitable amount again. Great value for money as we ate family style - only £12 per person for 4 people including our drinks (soft drinks).

“Shocking business mentality”

Korean! That sounds like fun, so as a group of 15 we turned up at the restaurant unannounced, given the size of our party we thought we should ask if they could accommodate us in the first instance, to be polite as one does, given the restaurant had at least 25 covers (as a guess) we couldn’t see it being an issue. They said 15 was no problem so we went on in. Tables were arranged and beers were or-dered..all good. The issue came when ordering food. A few of my personal highlights of the evening included:

Each member of the party being served at different times across the space of 2 hours! Rice dishes turning up 20mins after the main had been eaten.

Raw meat sitting on a table behind us waiting to be served, in the warm, for around 45 mins.

One of our party being served a raw fried egg on top of his meal, which was replaced..20mins after the meal it went with was eaten.

One order not even being delivered to the kitchen..thus one member of our party had no meal at all.

No beef, the restaurant had no beef at all.

Only 3 portions of dumplings were available.

Staff turning up in a minivan outside and then walking through the resultant carrying stock? (possibly the missing beef?)

No discount offered – we got 1 free beer for the member of our party who was not served a meal at all. We had an apology and were told one of the chefs has flu so couldn’t make it to work. All this said the food was ok, but I would certainly not recommend a visit anytime soon.

“Missed potential”

There was a large group of us, so fully accept not the easiest to manage but communication goes a long way. We'd have been happy treated as 2 separate bookings but instead they struggled. Nearly Half the menu was off and when food eventually came there was always a seasoning of excuses, eg we only have one chef at the moment, with flu apparently...the drink selection is poor at best and the food was very hit and miss. Unfortunately not a great dining experience to have such a large price tag.

“new experience”

first visit with group of people. very friendly staff, we were given a selection by the staff rather than pick from the menu. all food was very tasty, fresh and beautifully cooked. all sauces were delicious, will visit again.

“Disappointed”

Based on the reviews below, I had high expectations. Unfortunately those expectations were not met. The food was bland and overpriced, certainly not similar to authentic Korean, which was the biggest disappointment. The service was mediocre. We were not finished with our meal but the bill was brought to the table. Upon paying the waitress asked for a tip, and they didn't greet us when leaving. It wasn't busy.

The nonstop K-Pop is a little bit loud for such a small place. All in all we didn't have a nice meal and won't be returning.
