“Good hotel & fab location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2014

Just returned from a one nights stay at this hotel. Great location, very short walk from the beach. Nice clean hotel, all modern and fresh, all staff were helpful and friendly. Basic family room but was comfortable enough, nice and clean, lots of clean towels, Bath and overhead shower, comfy beds. I had read previous reviews about the rooms being hot which I have always found to be the case in budget hotels, we had a nice large fan provided in our room which was already on when we arrived and I took an extra fan with us from home. It was warm but not uncomfortable. Our room looked out over the street and we kept the window open all night but it was nice and quiet with no street noise. We also had breakfast here which was good value for money, the food was fresh and hot and topped up a few times whilst we were in there, the bar were it is served it quite small though with not many tables.

We were there on one of the hot nights during our short summer a few weeks back & like other reviews suffered a bit from lack of air conditioning. Lady on reception was very friendly & helpful, and told us that a fan had been placed in our room earlier. Handy enough location for one night stopover & ferry from Poole. Decent value.

great room at a fair price and better than some of the hotels we have paid twice as much for and two minutes on foot to the seafront and the BIC..... very helpful staff a real pleasure to have stayed here, the new beds are really comfy ... the car parks £5 for every 24 hours but if your lucky there is free parking on the street outside.....negatives there's none I cannot even moan about the clubbers returning to the hotel the beds so good i never heard a thing and we where ground floor .

Liked - the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was fine
Disliked - the car park was full for the three days we were there, mainly with taxis. The room was so hot the staff warned us on check-in and the window did not open. They provided a very small fan which had no effect on the heat

When we arrived, we found that there were no parking spaces available. The girl on reception handed us a map of the local area that covered about two square miles, and told us to find something local! We ended up parking about two miles from the hotel, then had to walk all the way back!! We would then have had to walk back to the car before 8am to pay for more parking before walking back again for breakfast!!

We decided not to stay and cancelled when we walked back. The hotel refunded our money within 72 hours.

From what I gathered, this hotel often suffers from parking problems. Over 100 rooms but only around 30 parking spaces. Crazy!

Room Tip: When we arrived, there was full scale hen night in progress.

The hotel is located near the west cliff of Bournemouth Beach which is ideal for beach location (within walking distance). We stay for one night for my friend's wedding on the beach. Bournemouth itself was delightful, lovely beach & people.

The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful & of course welcoming which is a bonus. The room we had was located in front of the car park on the ground floor (room 1). If I knew the location I wouldn't of accepted it due to the noise of people smoking and coming in & out of their cars etc.

The breakfast was fresh, tasty and great vaule for money. The dinning area was clean, fresh & welcoming.

The only downfall was the general maintenance, cleaniness of the room it needs a better up keep. Also the communal carpet and the room carpet needs a deep clean or replacemnet.

We had a lovely stay in this hotel, all staff were friendly and helpful, my children really enjoyed their stay too. The breakfast is tasty and good value for money and the location is great for the beach, amusements, town and gardens. The only downside is the parking but would advise to park in the pay and display behind the Wessex hotel as this was almost empty! We went in high season so parking may not be too much of a problem other times. Our room was clean and fresh and our stay was relaxing. Can not fault the travelodge Bournemouth.
