“Cheap and cheerful!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

Have been here many many times over the years, and for the money you pay it's fantastic value. The bogof cocktail deal they do from Thurs to Sat is great. Cocktails obviously aren't as nice as the ones at the more premium places, but then they work out to less than £4 each, who can complain. The food is standard budget pub grub, but brilliant value as there are usually a lot of weekday offers and discounts on. It often takes a while to be served in busy times, but it's a nice touch when they sometimes offer table service for groups when just having drinks. Definitely worth going if you're looking for somewhere cheap.

“Low quality food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

I visited on Monday evening and I think they had 50% off deal so it was quite busy which would explain the slow service.
The main problem was the low quality of the food (many places are like that because they buy the cheapest products to cut the expenses)

“Ok, but nothing to rave about”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

Visited for a lunch date - service was good, food was average pub fare, our table appeared a bit cramped and lack of privacy was annoying (next table diners were so close they could have chipped in at any point!) Ok for a quick light bite but not for a special occasion.

“Ok but won't rush back”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014 via mobile

After a four and a half hour drive I would have eaten anything to be honest and the sausage and mash did the job. It was tasty enough to be finished off totally, as was my partners plate. My daughter had a £10+ chicken burger which definitely wasn't worth the money and I don't think any burger in a place like this should ever charge that much. Drinks priced similarly to other local pubs but overall average at best.

“Pub grub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

This is always reliable for a bite to eat at a reasonable price. Nothing spectacular as you'd expect. Service can be somewhat slow. Nice if you can grab a table on the balcony if the weathers good!
