“What a friendly place and lovely breakfast!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

My husband and I stayed at The Living Room for the weekend. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable. Our room was very nice with everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious with a great choice, with the room being very quirky. It was also used as a coffee shop opened to the public which we thought was a really good idea - we had a lovely chocolate brownie and coffee one afternoon. The hotel was very convienient - we even walked into Bournemouth (about 35mins). Would deffinately stay there again.

We had breakfast here today as we were visiting a friend who was staying here. It was a delicious breakfast in a welcoming and 'vintage' style place. Would stay here next time as my friend said their room was lovely. Their cafe is open to the public not just residents.

I used trip advisor for star rating and reviews and booked ahead with this, based on the excellent reviews.

I dont know what i was expecting here but the online photos show a very conservative selection of pictures! The bedroom was quite conservative (very tasteful decor) BUT the shared areas are very quirky and have an interesting selection of decor/furnishings! At first i thought i was stepping back in time, BUT once I'd adjusted to the surroundings i found it to be very well thought out and very relaxed. I really enjoyed breakfast which was a break from the norm, a selection of breakfasts rather than a selection of mixed grill variations. I had french toast with bacon and mapel syrup which was heaven. My chap opted for the scrambled eggs and he said they were very tasty.

I'd recommend the Living Room for an overnighter or few days away, Or for those visiting the local beach. Very funky and chilled out place. If id have been staying longer Id have asked for a larger room.(if there was one of course) but in the whole we enjoyed our stay.

Defo eat in the little greek restaurant in West bourne! Delish!!!

Returned to Thanet House for a quick two night stay last week to take advantage of the late summer sun. Thanet House has now become the Living Room, a bed and breakfast with a quirky cafe offering cakes, light bites and superb coffees staffed by friendly manageress Sarah We like to think we are coffee connoisseurs and thought we had found the perfect coffee shop in our home town until we discovered Sarah's flat whites! Check them out they are just the right strength, mellow without being too bitter.

Stayed in the twin room (7). Friendly welcome. Nice, clean, modern room with ensuite. Great location not far from beach and also Westborne Village which had ample restaurants etc. breakfast choice was really good with quality to match. Would definitely stay again. Recommended.

The boyfriend and I stayed here on our first break together from the city. i must say the serivces was impeccable. Very personal and you can tell they run the business with a lot of love. The rooms we stayed in were to a very high standard and breakfast each day was absolutely spot on. The variations you had to choose from was amazing.
Sarah the host was very friendly and we asked her for opinion on where to dine whilst in bournemouth, and she told us about this Indian restuarant round the corner from the hotel. We dined there and had one of the most fantastic nights.
They made our visit to Bournemouth a very memorable and will definitely be returning for another short visit next summer
Also it was fantastic value for money!

Room Tip: Request room 3. its really beautiful

I stayed for 3 nights in August in a single room and the hotel was clean and comfortable with a good choice of food for breakfast/brunch, I would certainly recommend this hotel having stayed many times in various hotels in bournemouth, good value for money !
