“clean and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013

the hotel is typical of others in the coach/short break holiday scene .this one was as many, in need of a little refurbishment .the rooms were a little on the small size but clean and tidy with tv. and tea /coffee making facility .toilet/bathroom again clean and tidy the only fault the shower cubical was small and any body over the ideal weight (that's me included )will find it an interesting experience .the food was first class as were the waiters /waitresses, with no complaints at all .the entire staff at this hotel are a great credit to Alfa would I stay at this hotel again and the answer is YES .

It is always a bit difficult to review hotels that are part of a British coach holiday because there is a sort of "sameness" about the hotels involved ! However, my partner and I, together with a family friend, went with Alfa to their LeisurePlex hotel, Devon Towers in Bournemouth. A somewhat dated building it is nevertheless welcoming with very friendly and attentive staff. The food is very good, but the set time of 6pm for the evening meal is really about an hour too early (but seems to be the norm for LeisurePlex hotels). The en-suite facilities were somewhat small but adequate, but the creaking floor in the bathroom was unbelievable ! It even creaked when you were standing still ! One bit of a moan I'm afraid, the tiles behind and above the washbasin
were filthy. Though not readily noticeable they had a sort of smear on them and I did a cursory wipe with a tissue and it was literally black. To be fair this was at a height probably out of reach of the daily cleaner. It is worth pointing out that this hotel is situated only about 200 yards from the upper promenade and a very upmarket Marriott Hotel, but stepping out of the hotel and going in the opposite direction and it seems that you are in bed-sitter land with run-down B&B's and the sort of area where you don't feel at ease after dark. However, the holiday as a whole was excellent value for money and if you want a short break in Bournemouth for a modest outlay, try it !

Had a 5 day coach trip, first time with Alfa, to Bournemouth. Hotel was clean and comfortable, with good food, but you have to order in advance if you want certain things. Evening entertainment was quite good. Staff were very helpful and gave us another room when the tiolet would not flush.Shower doors opened at the corner making it a squeeze to get into if you are a bit on the large size. Bus stop round the corner to Town, where there is a bus to Poole every 3 mins.

Room Tip: Road facing roooms are a bit noisy.

We had an 8 day holiday with Alpha from 24th August 2013 and enjoyed every minute of it.
All the staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble.
Our coach driver Gareth was great. Very caring and informative with a good Yorkshire sense of humour. He certainly helped make the holiday.
Good food, excellent entertainment and comfortable rooms. The Air Show was an added bonus.
We will certainly travel with Alpha again in the near future

we stayed at this hotel on a alpha coach holiday everything was great hotel staff were great rooms were nice size and clean entertainment every night close to beach only one drawback if you are bad on your legs there is a steep hill to get to it . but we used a cab very cheap so no problem drinks were a bit limited but apart from that all good would recommend to anyone would certainly go back again j -s

Room Tip: 103 or 104 are nice rooms

Our first venture into coach holidays has been a superb experience, from our driver/courier to the manager and ALL the staff at the Devon Towers. We of course were fortunate to have very decent weather but i am sure the whole holiday would have been acceptable no matter what. I must also mention the entertainment at the hotel, this was of a very acceptable standard.Rest assured that we will be using Alfa Travel and also Leisureplex hotels again.

Room Tip: Corner suites are large.
