“Can't fault it, a great Premier Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2009

Agree with most of the reviews here, this is a splendid hotel, and easily the best Premier Inn we have stayed at.

As soon as you step through the doors you could be forgiven for forgetting you are in a Premier Inn, in fact, only the signage and the ubiquitous breakfast buffet give it away really.

The rooms are stylish and well appointed and the sea views were great. Like others have said, its a pity you can't use the balconies (yet), but apart from that, cant fault it.

Staff were professional, friendly and helpful, happy to provide advice on where to eat nearby and give directions.

Well done Premier Inn, please keep this place up to the high standards we enjoyed.

I stayed at the central for 6 nights from 12 June.
I had read all the reviews, and decided to give it a try. All I can say is fantastic. The hotel is all if not more of what the reviews stated. My wife and I were a little disappointed we could not use the balcony, as the sea views were superb, but my disappontment soon faded with the comfort provided. Partitions were being installed on the balcony between rooms during our stay, so I got the impression from the staff that these should be completed sometime this summer, which will be great for future visits.
I had originally booked the westcliffde, but after reading reviews of the central I cancelled this two nights before our holiday, and booked the central, best decision I have made. When booking I asked for a sea view, and although they could not promise one, they would mark it on my reservation card, and luckily we got one.
Everything both in the hotel and in the room was of top quality, with luxurious carpets fitted throughout, high quality fittings, beautifull bathroom. Room spotlessly clean and very polite, friendly, attentive and efficient staff.
I could not fault the staff or the hotel, my only complaint was with other guests in rooms either side of ours, who would have the TV volume up very high until late into the evening on several nights and on our final night until the early hours of the morning.
At 1.30am I rang reception, and withing ten minutes silence once more descended onto the hotel. I should have done it earlier, but don't like complaining. Again nothing is too much trouble for the staff
Overall, the best premier inn I have stayed in (and I have stayed in a few), and we will definitely be returning next year, and hopefuly we will be able to sit on the balcony on a warm summer evening savouring the sea views, and watching the lights come on along the pier, and waterfront. Roll on summer 2010, can't wait.

We had the 'meal deal' option, which meant an excellent evening meal, bed, and a huge buffet breakfast, at a cost of £120 for two of us. Having stayed at various other hotels in Bournemouth at twice the price per night, which turned out to be shabby and not very nice at all, I would say the Premier Inn is a joy, and next time I won't even bother looking up any other place to stay. The only disappointing thing was that the balconies were not in use (the dividing walls had not been built, but it is hoped this will be completed by the end of July) and it was rather frustrating looking through locked glazed doors instead of having my early morning cuppa surveying the scene below! Car parking is at the rear of the hotel in the Metro multi storey. It says cost is £1 per hour, which is a bit frightening, however upon check out you will be given a ticket and it will only cost £6.80 for 24 hours.

We recently had a trip to Bournemouth and stayed at the Premier Inn, Westover Road, Bournemouth for 3 nights. The location was perfect: about 10mins from the beach, main gardens and town centre.

We had a room on the 6th floor which had excellent sea views. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help and the room itself was fantastic, large room and with a decent sized bed. Breakfasts were very good too.

Would definitely recommend this hotel on all aspects.

Lovely pub called Aruba at the amusement arcade on the sea front. Does not look much from the outside, but this is a fantastic pub/restaurant, with spectacular views. Lovely feel to it. Would recommend a visit.

First the bad - my husband got poisoned by the meal he ate in the restaurant on the second night. We don't feel too upset, because there was absolutely no evidence of shoddy hygiene in this hotel - quite the opposite. It was just very unlucky. The manager was great and just refunded us the night's stay, whilst making it clear that the hotel would not accept responsibility for my husbands's illness without a doctor's report. We've no need for that, as he was fine once he got it out of his system.

It's a tribute to how good this hotel is that we would definitely stay there again, and eat there too. Now for all the good stuff:

It's a stunningly restored art deco hotel. Beautiful shared areas, a classy bar and restaurant. Our bedroom was huge and beautifully furnished, with a sea view. Balconies are being upgraded to current safety standards, and we were told they will be open in a few weeks. Both our own bathroom and the public toilets were done to a very high standard. Cleanliness was excellent.

Every single staff member had a smile, was polite and if appropriate made a little relevant small talk to break the ice. Even cleaning staff you passed in the corridor said hello and smiled. Five minutes after getting to our room, the desk manager phoned up to ask if everything about the room was OK. It all made for a very nice atmosphere - you didn't feel you were being "processed" as in many hotels.

The cooked breakfast was delicious - quality sausages - and there was a good range of juices, cereals and breads. You could eat as much as you liked. Breakfast was timed for 8am - 11am, and check out was at 12pm, which was all very civilized.

We had a lovely stay.

What an excellent hotel. My friend and I stayed here at the last minute, since the hotel we had booked into turned out to be a complete hovel. The lovely girl at the PI held the one room they had left while we went to collect our bags from Faulty Towers! Staff were professional, welcoming and helpful.
Lovely room; spacious, spotlessly clean, with super views of the sea (sad we couldn't access the balcony as doors were locked, health and safety?)
Loved the decor; very contemporary (throughout hotel) and trendy, beds were super comfy and room had good amenties. Cable TV (flat screen) radio, tea/coffee etc. Extensive room service menu.
Excellent restaurant on the first floor, again great views and an extensive menu, super value for money too.
Location is great for the seafront and shopping. Would love to return. Staff brilliant.

We cannot fault this hotel. Everytime we have stayed here the service has been excellent, the staff simply can't do enough for you. The rooms are modern and clean we were lucky to have a brilliant view over the seafront on our last visit! The hotel is quiet (even when fully booked) and the breakfast was great as well. It is walking distance of the beach and shops within just a couple of minutes. Thoroughly recommended!!
