“Fantastic hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2014 via mobile

Oh my god what an unexpected surprise. Having come to Bournemouth a year ago and stayed in the travelodge (massive disappointment) I was a little nervous coming to the premier inn central. However all my fears were dispelled as soon as we opened the door to the room. I booked a family room which was a massive 2 bedroomed room with views of Bournemouth pier to die for. (photo attached) I would thoroughly recommend the hotel, especially if you've got a family - fantastic place. This will be the only hotel I will stay in when I come to Bournemouth again...

Location very good within walking distance of all local amenities. Very friendly staff, nice room with air conditioning that worked!! Would definitely go back again. We had a room with a sea view which made our break all the more memorable.

Great place to stay for seeing anything on at the Pavillins ( just opposite) or BEC - room was a bit smaller than usual Premier rooms but everything was clean and comfortable - slept really well.
Restaurant was very quiet so could not understand being asked to wait in the bar for 15 mins to be seated in a clearly almost empty room ( we counted 8 other diners) and then forgotten about by the the waitress/ restaurant manager until we reminded her we were waiting. Resulted in dining in a hurry so we did not miss the start of our show. The reason for our wait remained a mystery as only 4 other diners came in after us. Small details such as having to wait for steak knives ( which were not clean when we got them) when your food has been served for example, plus inane attempts at conversation from same waitress, I am not there to hear how tired she is or how little she has slept in the previous three days!
Breakfast was a bit chaotic, one coffee machine, which kept breaking down, not a problem as we had to ask for cups, and side plates, and teaspoons.
Would return all the same as so handy and would just not eat in the restaurant in the evening

Room Tip: When booking ask for a balcony room that overlooks the seafront

Not bad for à no frills budget hotel but would strongly recommend avoiding the restaurant, service is poor and the food is just awful.
However, the good news is that there are plenty of good restaurants close by.

Excellent large room, clean and with a superb view and balcony. Friendly staff. There is no hotel parking but we were lucky to have a good spot opposite the hotel for £12.50 for 24 hrs. We would certainly recommend this hotel for the price.

Reading many of the reviews regarding this particular PI, I was persuaded to book. The booking was made 4 weeks in advance and a request was made for a room with a balcony as suggested on trip advisor. I can only say that our stay was very ordinary. The room was poor compared to other premier inns we have stayed at. Also, no balcony, or lovely view as suggested on this site, in fact the window was very small and stuck in one corner of the room behind the bedside unit, so you had to bend sideways to even see out of it. The room was dimly lit with hardly any space to walk around the bed. The room was clean but tired, with cracks around the edge of the ceiling. The room heating only seemed to work when it felt like it. As for parking, that can be very costly, the hotel blurb suggests you can get parking in the attached car park for £9/24hrs. This is only achievable if you leave your car there. If you want to come and go this rate does not apply and it will cost you £12.50/24hrs in the council carparks. In summary, our stay here was nothing like that suggested by many of the comments on this site.
