Stayed for a 6 night break with my 12 yr old daughter. We were originally booked into Room 18 which although huge had frosted windows, TV was to the left of the bed (?) meaning we had to crane our necks to watch it. The room was also situated at the back of hotel over some very noisy air con units. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep and so the next morning complained to a very apologetic female receptionist who immediately moved us and gave us a refund. Room 20, although smaller, was excellent! The restaurant next door provide good service and food, the breakfasts were great value for money. In fact decided not to bother with breakfast at hotel one morning and have it in Harry Ramsdens Cafe...big mistake..got a dry scone (no butter), pastry, juice and a horrible cup of tea all served by a very miserable young man, for £7!! The continental and the full breakfasts at Premier Inn are at most £8!
The staff were extremely helpful, car parking is plentyful. The beach is a pleasant 8 min stroll and is quieter than that of central Bournemouth, although we walked along the seafront into Bournemouth quite a bit and that was a nice 25min stroll. The town of Boscombe is unfortunately a little run down so we tended to go into Bournemouth. If you have kids a great place to go is "The Dorset Heavy Horse Centre" in Ringwood, about 25min drive away. Very good value for money and run by horse-passionate owners.
Don't choose Room 18 at the back, although check as they may have fixed their "Air Con"...
