we visited after reading rave reviews and taste of the west award winner so here goes= nicely decorated and peaceful calm atmosphere but alittle cramped up the top end. For an upmarket tearooms (and the prices reflected this) the cakes and scones were a visual letdown and therefore decided to opt for a couple of toasted sandwiches, a coffee and a speciality tea, the drinks were excellent although the young lady forgot my slice of lemon for the tea (we did request it from another waitress but to no avail !). the toasted sandwiches arrived although only 1 was toasted and minus any cutlery. In the end it was an average lunch there certainly no "wow" factor, but that was only compounded by the extremely rude "older lady" on the front desk who took our money without a word of thanks with her fagin like fingerless gloves and when i attempted to engage her in conversation about the premises formerly being a jewellers shop i was greeted by a one word answer before she started to mumble and grumble about someone leaving the front door open !! We will not rush back.
