We visited on a quiet and very hot Friday afternoon. The lady behind the counter was very charming and although they had just closed, was very happy to serve us tea and cakes if we were happy to sit out on the veranda area. One of the biggest pots of tea for 4 I have seen with plenty of hot water to top up. The lemon and carrot cake went down well with our younger guests, whilst Himself and I had one of the most delicious pieces of Bakewell tart we have had in a long time: light pastry and a brilliant jam to sponge ratio completed by the perfect amount of almonds.
Lovely service in a beautiful setting.
