Owner description: Classic English wines are produced at Sharpham vineyard as a result of a happy marriage of soil, climate and grape variety known as terroir, and nature has bestowed her gifts freely upon us here at Sharpham. In the winery, we employ both New World and traditional techniques to best develop our unique regional characteristics. Our tally of International Awards confirms our position as one of England's foremost quality wine producers. We invite you to visit, sample, and make up your own minds about our fine English wine.

“Magical”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

I stayed at Sharpham House as part of a swimming weekend that I hoped would be a break from a stressful job. I left totally relaxed and feeling as though I'd shed the weight of the world.

The location is stunning but what was really magical was the quiet: I felt as though I'd gone back in time a thousand years. The river is easily accessible and there are well marked paths.

The wine and cheese also went down well after a long swim - the cheese in particular. It's powerful stuff.

Wonderful walk down to the River Dart through the beautiful vineyard, following a trail as guided. Wine and cheese tasting very reasonably priced and totally delicious! Will definitely visit again!

“Chilled visit... and wine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

We were given a Sharpham Experience voucher for two, which included the tour, wine tasting, lunch and a bottle of wine. We were met with coffee and a smile and conducted on the tour by Steve, who is knowledgeable and passionate about wine and the walk around the estate and vineyards was informative and relaxed.
The English wines sampled were a revelation, lunch a tasty cold buffet of local meats, cheeses, and fish, and the whole experience a delight.
Access to the grounds only starts at £2.50 and the Experience package is good value at £55 pp with smaller options in between. We purchased extras at the farm shop and left happy.

“Superb English Wines and Cheeses in a Lovely Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

This visit exceeded all our expectations. What a fantastic location!

We started our visit with a self-guided tour around the vineyards ending up with a walk along the river Dart. Then we enjoyed a selection of wines made on the estate. All were very good but a couple were exceptional. It's a shame that most of the wines don't compare favourably with French equivalents on price. That didn't stop us buying some!

The cheeses were great too.

They were fully booked for lunch but it looked like a great place to eat.
