“Nice and cosy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2011

First visit to the resort, found the hotel comfortable and a good location.
The only fault was the layout of the rooms, quite a maze of corridors and stairs.
Food good and pleasant staff, just nice for a little break.

Just come back from a 5 day stay at this hotel. Found the staff friendly and helpful. Room was a bit on the small size & if you like watching TV it has a very small screen, other than that it was comfortable & we paid a little extra for a sea view over the harbour which was well worth it. The food was good and ample. there was plenty to do in the resort & buses run nearby at regular intervals. Our only dark side was our ALFA driver ( Steve) who was rude & arrogant, he was an exception as we travel a lot with ALFA and most of there drivers are friendly & helpful.

Room Tip: Worth paying that little extra for a seaview room

The worst thing I can say about this 4 night stay is please sort out your Orange juice! Was looking forward to doing my Basil Fawlty routine but couldn't use it once.
This was a 5 day trip with Alfa Travel and it was excellent value for money. The hotel was clean and warm with a fantastic location right on the harbour front. Our room was Ok but the toilet might give some people problems as it was very close to the wall. The food was fine, 3 courses every night and a good choice at breakfast. Staff including the manager, were excellent. The cost included 2 full day trips out. All in all a great break and fantastic value for money

From the time we arrived at the Regina, the service was welcoming and friendly. The manager boarded the Alfa coach while our luggage was being unloaded by the hotel staff and gave us useful information. The rooms were clean and we had a sea view. The food was good and plenty of it. The staff were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to help. The entertainment was good. Altogether it was a very enjoyable holiday

Just back from a 4 night stay at the Regina travelling with Alfa holidays, had a fantastic time, the hotel was lovely, room great, food excellent, the hotel staff couldn't do enough for us while we were there. We were a bit concerned when we read the previous reports, but we had no issues at all.

My wife and I travelled to torquay with Alfa, stayed at the Regina hotel, after a friendly greeting by the manager on arrival, and getting our key to room 3A ,on the first floor we were on cloud nine, till we opened the room door. It was dark, and needed two lights on at all time's, one window at the side overlooking the yard, a great big extractor fan just outside the window, {this turned off after dinner} a cliff face covered in ivy at one side the corner of the hotel at the other blocking the light, and filthy, all around, we left curtains closed. Breakfast was the worst I have ever had anywhere on my travels, I just wanted bacon and egg, one rasher of curled up very fatty bacon, and a fried egg you could play tennis with. After trying to explain to the waiter, {nice lad} why I could not eat it, and holding it up by the yolk with my fork, he not know what I say. It did get better as we went on through the week, and the hotel, and rooms were clean, but be prepared for a few not so nice things.
