“Like staying with friends...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

Recently had a week long stay at the Trafalgar. We wished it had have been longer.

The hosts, Graham and Barbara are friendly and helpful with sincerity and the rooms cleaned daily and tastefully decorated. The breakfasts more than set you up for the day ahead.

Location is ideal, close to the front yet tucked away from the masses. There is so much to do here with lots of places of interest just minutes away, by foot and car!

A return will be on the cards!

Here is a guest house that has everything just right. Quiet location, warm friendly welcome, off-street parking, immaculately clean and well kept throughout, guest lounge, prestine en-suite bathroom, super-comfortable firm beds, wi-fi, breakfast that would impress guests at a four-star hotel. Simple example of 'you get what you pay for' and the Trafalgar House is worth paying for!

We wanted to get away for a few days and chose The Trafalgar. The friendliness of the owners, the choice of wonderful breakfasts - all cooked to order, and the comfortable and sparkling clean room could not have been bettered. We will most certainly be returning as soon as possible.

Room Tip: If, like me, you prefer not to tackle stairs, Room 11 is ground floor, and although not large, has e...

Thanks for a wonderful stay at Trafalgar House in August. Barbara and Graham are excellent hosts, the house is lovely and the beds so comfy. Breakfast was really good - possible the best scrambled eggs I've ever had.

Had a great time at Trafalgar House with Barbara and Graham. Everything was as you would expect from previous reviews. Also the scrambled eggs are perfect. The beds are really good. Have not slept so much in a long time.

Thank you for your complimentary comments. If you had a good sleep and a good breakfast - they are the two main points you look for from a B&B. Thank you for making the point about agreeing with the previous reviewers too - that's very re-assuring.

A big thank you to Barbara and Graham for making our one night stay so enjoyable. Lovely service, lovely facilities and a good location.
Could not fault anything about this place. I was not planning to attend breakfast, but so glad I did...the scrambled egg with salmon was a perfect start to the day.
Well done, keep up the good work and enjoy your holiday later this year :)

Room Tip: due to popularity and being a last minute booking only one room was available. It was (No.2) standar...

Thank you for your very positive comments. We too are pleased you made it down for breakfast and enjoyed the Scrambled eggs and Smoked Salmon. Nowadays, it is just about as popular as our "Traditional English" option. We very much hope you enjoyed this as a taste of Trafalgar House and that you will return sometime in the near future.

We spent three nights in the attractively decorated Super Kingsize Master room, a bright, light, spacious, high-ceilinged room, overlooking the garden. The ensuite shower was also spacious and, like the rest of the room, spotlessly clean. Breakfast was the best we have experienced anywhere we have ever stayed. We especially enjoyed the fresh fruit salad, with such a large selection of delicious fruits. The eggs were cooked to perfection and you could mix and match from the menu. Graham and Barbara were very helpful with local information. We had several interesting conversations with them on various subjects. Such friendly hosts made all the difference to our stay. Penny, who returned our room to its original clean and smart state every day, was just as friendly. The breakfast room and lounge were tastefully furnished and decorated and the sunroom was especially cute. Steps lead down to the well-kept, peaceful, mature garden. Look out for the frog!
