we went last week to babbacombe bay .at the norcliffe hotel a five day stay. The room was lovely and the staff so nice an absolute bargain at twice the price.Nick the boss did his utmost best to ensure that each and every guest had a wonderful time from morning till night goodness knows how he stayed so bright. We cannot fault this place at all and most of all we had a ball

My husband and I have just returned from a four night break at the Norcliffe. We went with Travelstyle tours. We had an excellent time there. The owners Nick and Karen were most hospitable, nothing was too much trouble. Nick especially was very entertaining and joined in with the guests in the evenings. Entertainment was good too. Hotel was very clean, food was good. All in all we would definately return to this hotel. Would recommend.

I had a terrible stay at this so called fantastic hotel. It seems to me that alot of the "excellent" reviews of this hotel could possibly be made up. There isn't anything good to say about my stay. Dated, old fashioned, smelly rooms, small portions, old tea and an owner who claims to be improving the hotel. Well i don't see any signs yet. Sorry!!!!!

We were looking forward to a couple of nights in what looked a simple but nice hotel from the hotel website. We did check tripadvisor and saw some excellent reviews - and, yes, a few negative ones. How I wish now that we had taken notice of those unfavorable comments.
The beds were most uncomfortable - you could feel the wire of the springs. The shower curtain was mildewy. The decor was tired; it looked like it had not been updated for 20 years. There was no hairdrier or telephone in the room - contrary to the website description.
The breakfast - at 9 am, no option for a different time - was a small plate with one rasher of bacon, one sausage and egg and a spoonful of baked beans. Six half slices of toast between four adults. Tea and coffee from flasks - terrible. Not the "hearty breakfast" advertised.

  • Liked — Towels were clean
  • Disliked — Mildew on shower curtain
