“Overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

I booked this 'Hotel' for one night, a twin room for myself and a friend. It was really a single room, with old wallpaper that was peeling, a carpet that felt damp and little room for anything. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. There were only two tea bags in the 'tea tray' and one pack of biscuits. The bathroom was okay but where there were meant to be 'luxury towels' they were actually quite thin and not very big at all.
The bathroom was okay.
Breakfast would have been served downstairs, however we didn't stay and as my friend is classed as disabled it would have added a problem. The car park is not easy to manoeuvre in and not made any easier by the owners' can being parked across two spaces!

Room Tip: This was very expensive for what it was, although in a reasonably good location, we still paid too m...

Our family have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Brandize. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Rick, who was very pleasant and welcomed us all.
The family room was perfect for us, With a huge bed that could have slept all 4 of us, and bunk beds that my children loved. The en-suite facilities were spot-on too.
The choice for breakfast was brilliant - whether you wanted a full english or just cereal and a yoghurt, it was all there to choose from.
Will definitley recommend this guest house to anyone who fancies a few nights in Torquay, families or couples. Rick and Sarah are fantastic hosts!
Can't wait to book up again.

My sister and I just returned from Devon where we stayed at the Brandize in Torquay for three nights. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home by our attentive hosts. The ambiance throughout the property was warm and inviting and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Our room was the superior double with en suite and was very comfortable. A wonderfully restful night's sleep was followed by a hearty well-cooked full English breakfast - there was also a good choice of cereals, yoghurts, juices, teas, etc on offer.

To demonstrate just how thoughtful our hosts were, we would have been late to catch our coach home if Rick had not volunteered to drop us off at the station.

When we visit Devon again, we will certainly stay at the Brandize and will be recommending this wonderful place and its hosts very highly to our friends and family. Thanks to Rick and Sarah for their hospitality - our only regret is that we stayed for only 3 nights.

Having just returned home from a very pleasant three night stay at The Brandize , I wanted to write a review to share my thoughts.
Rick and Sarah are very genial hosts ,who greet you upon arrival and make you feel most welcome, even offering us tea and biscuits after our long journey.
The room was more than adequate ,comfy bed ,decent shower, tea making facilities, and all very clean and tidy.
A nice choice for breakfast is available too ,from cereals and yogurts through to a very tasty full English.
Good location ,just a 10 /15 min stroll to the seafront and its attractions.
If you are looking for friendly b and b you give the Brandize a call.

My sister and I stayed at the Brandize for 3nights over the bank holiday weekend; we were picked up from the coach station by Rick, which was very thoughtful of him. He showed us around the accommodation and made us feel very comfortable. The location is perfect; it’s about 10minutes walk to the seafront. Our room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Overall we were very happy with our stay and we would definitely recommend it and stay here again!

We booked three rooms at the hotel at short notice for the bank holiday weekend.
we were met by Sarah & Rick & shown to our rooms. These were excellent rooms with all facilities. The bed was very comfortable & the ensuite unit very clean with lots of hot water.
The full English breakfast was needed to face the day with the grandchildren.
We would recommend this hotel to everybody.
Sarah & Rick were brilliant hosts.

Room Tip: Rooms No,s 1,11 & 12 are perfect for families & couples.

We stayed at the Brandize Hotel over the August Bank holiday, five adults and three demanding young children. On arrival we were met and shown around and made to feel very welcome, from the start. Our rooms and beds were very comfortable, and a good breakfast every morning set us up well for the day.
The location was a fairly easy walk to the town centre, even with small children, so we didn't need to use the cars every time, and left them parked at the hotel.
Rick and Sarah were excellent hosts, and gave us excellent care and service throughout our stay, in a homely manner, and they were also very good with the children. When we are next in Torquay, this would be our first choice place to stay, (and we even took some hotel brochures to recommend to our family and friends).
