Just arrived back after a 3 night stay at the Hillcroft. On arrival we were greeted by Stuart who showed us around supplied us with iced water (which was lovely in the hot weather ) and cake. Our room the Lombok was lovely, quiet and cool. The breakfast was spot on! Karen and Stuart cannot do enough for you and Stuart helped us with maps and advice on where to go what bus to catch and where to eat. Exceptional service all round. I would definitely stay again

Just returned from a five night stay at Hillcroft. Before booking I had consulted previous reviews and can only agree with all who gave an excellent rating. Stuart and Karen were the perfect hosts giving excellent service in every way. We stayed in the Provence Suite that covers the whole of the top floor in three rooms and a private landing. It was spotlessly clean and spacious. Tea/Coffee/Bottled water/Biscuits replenished daily. Electric fans were provided to cool us down.
We highly recommend this beautiful Hotel and would return in the future. To Stuart and Karen we thank you very much.

Room Tip: Provence Suite on top floor is excellent. Quiet, Spacious and beautifully furnished.

From the moment we arrived for our anniversary weekend we were made to feel most welcome. Our themed room Tuscany was very comfortable & the owners attention to detail & excellent service was highlighted with the breakfast served in our room on the first morning! Unique Boutique sums up this excellent hotel & we shall return! Highly recommended!

Attending a conference in the busy seaside resort of Torquay, I was delighted to find a quiet place to stay at the Hillcroft. This boutique hotel is up the hillside away from the crowds but easy to walk to the high street and harbour. Upon arrival I was welcomed with a refreshing tea and cake. The rooms are decorated each with a unique, creative style. Mine was the India Suite with many exotic and quality furnishings. After a refreshing night sleep, and well fortified by a cooked to order breakfast, I was prepared to face the day at the conference.

Room Tip: Spend a little extra and get one of the unique theme rooms they have for a most enjoyable stay.

Welcomed with a cup of coffee/ tea and cake. Very friendly welcoming and helpful owners. Parked at the front of the house, our friends parked in the small car park at the back.
We stayed in the Amsterdam room which has been recently redecorated and is now the Moroccan . Small but adequate shower room, decent selection of tea and coffee and bottled water. Bed was decent size, too hard for me but my husband slept well. The house is in a good quiet location. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice. We will stay again if we are in the area and would not hesitate to recommend to friends.

Arrived after 9 pm on a Friday night to a warm welcome and a pot of tea and cake.
How better to start a weekend in Torquay?
Excellent service from Karen and Stuart, who are really friendly and welcoming.
Our room was Bali, which was an oasis of calm, what more could you ask for.
Hearty breakfast sets you up for the day. Our friends had to leave early to meet a flight and they were more than happy to arrange breakfast to fit in with their needs.
Overall a marvellous place to spend the weekend.

We had just stayed in an expensive large chain hotel in Bristol, small, dark impersonal rooms and soul-less decor. We decided to add a few days extra to our holiday by returning to The Hillcroft and we were not disappointed! What a contrast. We stayed in Amsterdam - recently refurbished with really good lighting (important to me) and a lovely spacious room, comfy bed with nice bedding, fluffy white towels and with lovely chairs and a coffee table to sit at for a relaxing cuppa from a good selection of teas and coffees etc. The whole place is spotlessly clean - hard to maintain with an older property. The hosts, Karen and Stuart are so friendly and welcoming and the breakfasts are great - all good quality and very well cooked. No one could ever rate this any other than 5*. We really enjoyed our stay and will return.

Room Tip: Good lighting in Amsterdam and spacious room.
