Owner description: Cared for by local charity Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust Cockington Country Park surrounds the picture postcard Cockington Village which lies just off the seafront near Torquay. The Park features beautiful formal gardens, lakes and woodlands which can be enjoyed via a network of paths. There is a Visitor Centre in the village staffed by local volunteers. Trust members can park for free in the Trust's car park, details on the website. As well as the village itself visitors can also visit Cockington Court a newly renovated craft centre in the centre of the park or make a day of it by combining it with a visit to Occombe Farm.

“"Pleasant Surprise"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

We visit Torquay fairly frequently, we honeymooned there in 1960 and have been photographed at the Forge so when we return it is always quite nostalgic, we have dined at "The Drum" many times but were not aware of the country park area. When we arrived via Meadfoot a large cruise liner was in Torbay and was shown on the local TV channel in the evening, it said that the Country Park at Cockington was highlighted for a visit from the cruise passengers. "Our Glass" workshop is there and is a must along with the lovely Church and the new attractions plus on a nice day a pleasant walk through the park itself.

“Happy grandson!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

Loved the play park, but, it needs money spent to repair broken activities. Two youngest grandsons love being able to run about.

Olde worlde charm! Delightful Rose Cottage serves meals & cream teas while pianist plays in gazebo in their pretty gardens. Make sure you have 20p for toilets in car park though!

Loved the village,it was a beautiful place, went by local bus which was not a good experience, we were very cramped on a very small bus and they were never on time.
