We visited this casino as my son has not long turned 18 and I was trying to get all the 'firsts' out of the way, so we decided to visit. I'd checked the website on my phone, and spent ages registering myself and my partner, but couldn't register my son, as the online date of birth didn't go back to 1994. So turned up to the reception (we were allowed entrance wearing smart jeans, trainers and t shirts) to find that their online registration system wasn't working, and the age that I'd spent on my phone was worth nothing. The only person who eventually did get regisitered was my son! I explained that we'd never been to a Casino in the UK (my only experience was in Niagra Falls) and the receptionist was very friendly and said that everyone would help us out.
This turned out not to be the case. It felt very stiff, and full of unknown rules, and really the only person that helped us was a lady who was playing the slots.
I gave my lad £5 to put into a slot machine (after we'd ordered our drinks) and first round he won £34. This came in handy as myself and my partner had ordered soft drinks, and my son had ordered a pint of cider, the bill came to £4.20. We thought this was for all of the drinks, but apparently not, if you're playing on the tables or the slots, soft drinks, tea & coffee were free, so the pint of cider came to £4.20!
Eventually they opened up a blackjack table, and whilst I'd played this in the USA/Canada the table was very different, and the dealer was of no help at all. But saying this, I won a little, well enough to let my son loose for 6 hands!
A nice, clean place, quite friendly at first, don't bother registering until you're there tho! If you're not a regular casino goer, then check out the rules of the games before you go, as you're not going to get the help needed at the table.
