“Unmatchable Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2011

This was our 2nd time at the Marstan and it reminded me of why we went back - the service is 2nd to none. All the hotel staff are warm and friendly and they are especially lovely towards the children. It was great to have an eating out guide for the local area. This hotel is clean, classy and comfortable. My children felt completely at home. We will thoroughly recommend it to others!

Food was very good. both ladies were very helpful and always a smile to greet you at breakfast.Ian and graig very chatty and both could play the piano which was nice just to sit and listen to. We will stay again if we are in the area.

Room Tip: ground floor room needs a blind at en-suite window

Regency style villa 20 minutes walk from the harbour. Very friendly resident owners, who obviously take great pride in the whole business - from customer care at reception to food and cleanliness. The furnishings are heavy antique, giving the rooms a welcome individual style, but won't be to everyone's taste and the en-suite bathroom needs a little upgrading. Really good breakfast - plenty of choice and good quality jams for example. A good choice for a few nights in Torquay.

As soon as you enter this hotel it is obvious that the hosts want the guests to relax and enjoy their stay. The surroundings are opulant and iuxurious with a family feel to them.
The pool and jacuzzi areas are very clean and inviting and a great way to unwind at the end of the day. The bedrooms are sumptuously decorated with crisp clean white linen. All the staff are attentive to detail and making the guests welcome and happy.
An ideal stay for couples and families alike although I travelled solo and enjoyed every minute of my stay.

Room Tip: If travelling with children state their ages.

The proprietors Ian and Craig were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast, accommodation and hospitality was A1. The ladies who served breakfast in the dining room every morning were really friendly and took the trouble to suggest various places of interest to visit.

Room Tip: We booked the compact room which although smaller than the other rooms on offer had a really spaciou...

Situated in a quiet Torquay neighbourhood, though still very near to the seaside, the Marstan is a very elegantly decorated family hotel, with ever ready service and a very good breakfast. Nice to very nice rooms. Outdoor bath and jacuzzi were well kept and a pleasure to use. We were really happy to have chosen this hotel.
