“Superb hospitality.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014

I have spent a lot of time at this hotel staying every weekend in March, April and beginning of May.
The hospitality from the owners is outstanding. Very friendly and very helpful. Anything you want to know about the area and days out.
Rooms are comfortable with very comfortable beds.
The hotel is keep at a high cleanliness standard.
Breakfast is excellent. They will mix and match the cooked breakfast to your taste.
They even catered for me when I had to get up and leave at 0530 hours by leaving milk, cereal, yogurts and fruit out so I could help myself.
I can not rate this high enough as they really looked after me when I stayed with them. Even helping me with advise about the local area and contacts for my move to the area.
The location is perfect for the harbour and main bus route into Torquay (although you can walk it in under 10 minutes) where you can get buses to Brixham and Paignton or the surrounding area. There is a ferry to Brixham in the harbour also and it's only a pound.
You can even walk to Babbacombe or St Marychurch or get the local bus and visit those areas from the Hotel.
Overall this is a truly outstanding hotel to stay in as it has everything. Not like some corporate hotels where the rooms are clean and airy but have no character or the staff are just a front and have no soul.
This hotel has character and the owners and staff make you feel really welcome.
Top notch stay.

This is our second time at Braddon Hall, first time was our honeymoon back in 2010, this time our anniversary. Very good service, very warm welcome. Rooms perfect. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Short walk to the harbour and town centre. Will return.

Room Tip: I have stayed in the honeymoon suite with the four poster bed and this time we had the superior room...

Going home tmw, if not for work we would stay longer! Torquay is beautiful ! But best part of our stay was being here at braddon hall, thanks to Wayne who was so down to earth and really helpful! We felt he couldn't do enough for us, even putting my husbands beer in our room while we were out! Don't Hesitate in booking here. Excellent value for money. Thank you so much both of you. You should of won 4 in a bed! Ady & Bon xxx

Room Tip: You will not be disappointed !

We spent 3 wonderful nights here for our honeymoon. The owners are lovely and cannot do enough to make your stay wonderful. The housekeeping and waitress staff are also very nice. Our room was clean and tidy with a lovely 4 poster bed. Breakfast was beautiful with a large selections of cereals and buffet and a big selection of cooked. The hotel is a 5 min walk from the town and was a very good centralised location for our trips around Torquay and the surrounding areas.

A small hotel with a big heart, in a good position, it based on an Edwardian style Victorian Villa, that is about 5~6 minutes from the Harbour/marina and set sufficiently off the Babbacombe Road, (that has been known to be used by visiting Bikers & Hot-rodders to show off their Power!!) To be very quiet unlike some hotels adjacent to the Babbacombe road.
Being family run by Wayne & Debbie, it is a very friendly and cared for establishment.
The breakfast is of note, as there is a wide range of cereals and freshly cooked dishes, you only have to ask!
In fact when we arrived Wayne asked us did we need Dairy free or Gluten free ? But this didn't apply to us.
The bedroom was of standard size for the house, and had a normal sized comfortable double bed, and there was the usual selection of coffees, teas, biscuits etc, with a kettle that boiled quickly, unlike some hotels that I have stayed in (500 W element!) And tucked in to the drawers was an efficient hair-dryer and in the wardrobe was an electric fan for the rare days when its too hot. Also there are sufficient power sockets, you just have to look for them.
The bathroom had a shower, but on a one to eight rating was a three. I would recommend having a bath, as in the mornings the temperature can change rapidly.
The free Wi-Fi works but at the top of the hotel the data rate was slow, but it was always possible to log on to check your “E”mails Just don't expect to watch BBC-Iplayer

The room television had good reception of free to air programmes but had a hand written list of channels that worked

Car parking is free but is dependant on having a good steering lock and a small car, as if other cars are parked in the lower part, there is a hairpin bend on a slope to the upper part. Just not easy to negotiate. I parked on the road, and we walked around Torquay so we did not need to use the car. It enabled us both to have a drink! But in high season I can see problems.
It is apparently both child and dog friendly but this did not apply to us!

Remember Torquay is hilly and as Braddon Hall has a steep slope and has no lift, it cannot easily accommodate the disabled. But in all other respects it is to be highly recommended.
And so WE will stay here again.

We have now stayed at this hotel since 2009 and go back on a regular basis.

We first stumbled across this hotel by chance on night in Sept 2009 looking for a place to stay for the night with friends. Wayne and Deborah were welcoming then and are still to this day. We look forward to visiting them and their lovely hotel. The rooms are brilliant value and we always have a good nights sleep on the comfy beds. They can now accommodate our 9 month old baby aswell which is brilliant and we look forward to our fry up every time. Just a shot walk (2 mins) to the town its perfect. Would not think to stay anywhere else in Torquay now its the only hotel we have ever been to there and we have no need to look for something else due to the brilliant price and the great owners :)

Room Tip: all rooms are good I think we have stayed in most of them now
