“Excellent Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

It is amazing there is so much to see over two floors of exhibits. Children love the game of finding the small bears hiding among the exhibits. and only round the corner from the Model Village in Babbacombe has a lovely café and shop also and very reasonable prices.

“Really Enjoyed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Not sure if it is our age ( 60,s ) but just cannot identify with some of the negative comments . We really enjoyed a well laid out attraction with bags of authenticity ,the range of stuff collected is incredable and their seemed enough to please all ages eg Thomas The Tank Engine for children etc .
Mind you must agree the staff are pretty stoney faced and to the girl on the pay desk this is clearly just a "job" and one she does not have any interest or enjoy much

“How you value things”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

I read here people complaining about this attraction. But maybe is not for them in the first place. Here is 100 years history of English tradition and nostalgia. To be honest, the owner himself has got carried away by accumulating so much, and attempted to display as much as possible. So yes, some exhibits have become somewhat cluttered.

National museums only put out a tiny fraction of thier stock holding. Here is attempting to give as much value and pleasure as possible in the restricted space allocated. So, if one stands and actually looks and appreciates all, is not 10 minutes duration! And the point of fact is that all artifacts in the exhibit are original, including the GWR Posters and signage. There are no 'fillers' with reproduction of any kind. There is a considerable amount of money put into this museum.

No. I am in no way connected with Bygones. Just telling like it is to those who are ignorant to reality,and/ or have minimal attention span! Think about how much spent in a week on stale sandwiches on point-of-sale and other in-between snacks, scratch cards, unnecessary parking fees because too lazy to walk 5 minutes, etc. Good luck from a not-so-grumpy old man :)

“Lovely place, price and bit too steep”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

We were camping in the area and saw this advertised. Took us a while to find but it was worth it. Although the price was quite expensive we still enjoyed it. And as others have mentioned, we came to the end of the museum thinking "where's the rest??" As it isn't very big. Still very fascinating. But price needs a little rethink.

“Not worth the money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

It cost us £9 each to get in, it was cramped and dark, there was 2 sets of school children in there and we couldn`t get to see a lot so it was a total waste of money. You could walk around this place in 10 minutes.
