Stayed here again at end of March. Once again it was very good in my opinion. I really do wonder what some of the other reviewers are talking about as I could not fault it. I wonder if they are being extremely 'picky'.
After all it is an old, but quite impressive building, but in an exellent positon. Yes it may need a bit of updating in parts, but most of it is good, particularly the public areas, bars and dining room.
I stayed in a 'compact' room overlooking the railway station at the rear and this was very comfortable and extremely good value. No noise problems at all.
Dining and bar facilities were very good and the staff very pleasant and efficient.
I have no complaints and think this hotel justifies its rating and will definitely stay here again.
