“Great Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

John and Lynn are lovely people who made our stay excellent. We were offered refreshment as soon as we arrived after a very long and tiring journey which was gratefully recieved. The rooms are very comfortable and had all that was needed.Breakfast was cooked fresh to order. Nothing was too much effort for John or Lynn, a real home from home. We would recommend The Sandpiper Lodge to anyone and have full intentions of returning later in the year :-) x

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor at the front and was very comfortable.

Our stay at the Sandpiper Lodge was excellent. John & Lynne were most friendly and very helpful with anything we wanted to know.
Our room was excellent very clean and decoration was great. On arrival we were greeted with tea or coffee and biscuits and a good chat.
The breakfast was brilliant plenty to eat and cooked lovely.
We would definitely stay again. Excellent

Room Tip: our room was at front of house and waas lovely, very clean and fresh.

My boyfriend and I love Torquay, we have been a few times now (its like our little place) This is the second time we have stayed at the Sandpiper Lodge, and as before, it was excellent!
We were even put in the same room as last time, it was lovely and clean, the food was still fantastic, We're still missing those fry ups!
John and Lyn are a lovely couple, always up for a chat and a laugh, are very welcoming and they'll let you know all about the area, the places to go and all of the local pubs!
We even got engaged this last visit! so it was a fantastic weekend away all round! John and Lyn even kept our Champagne cold for us and provided us with a few flutes so we could celebrate properly!
I cannot even explain how fantastic this place is, its great value for money and not far from the main high street (i'd say a 10-15 minute walk) and you can walk right through the local Abbey gardens to get to it.
I love Torquay and I love this guesthouse, we will definitely be coming back for a third, fourth, fifth time...

Room Tip: The only room we have stayed in was right at the front of the Lodge, the road is very busy at times...

We stayed, my partner and I, for 3 nights, and we were made to feel most welcome from the minute we arrived. Our accommodation was spotless with a tray of tea and coffee in our room. Lynda and John have a knack for making people feel welcome, they chat, give advice on how to get places, where the good places are and listen as well. They have a sense of humour and this helps to put you at your ease...they introduce you to people staying in their house so you immediately have no awkward moments...Everything was clean and well thought out. John's breakfasts are delicious, there is so much on offer, Please try his scrambled egg, the best I've tasted.... once you've been here, you WILL want to come again. :-)

Room Tip: first floor, ...en-suite, very good.

Loved every minute we stayed here. John and Lynn were fantastic! I knew it would be a lovely stay after we walked through the main corridor and saw hundreds of thankyou cards from previous guests! John showed us to our room, it was lovely, very clean with fresh sheets. we were offered tea or coffee right away and then left to our own devices.
It was our 1 year anniversary so we asked for a bucket of ice for our bubbly, within minutes they delivered us an ice bucket and two champagne flutes! We didnt expect glasses, we had little plastic picnic cups!
Food was excellent, We ordered every morning in the breakfast room with the other guests, we were introduced to the other guests every morning and we soon realised that most of the people staying the same week as us come to this hotel all the time! I think that says it all really!
Had a fantastic stay, will definitely go back again!

Really lovely place to stay. I highly recommend this place! The free internet was the only drawback as it was being finicky while we were there and we were only able to access it in the dining room, and even then only sometimes. But otherwise it was a really great place to stay. Breakfast was delicious and the owners are so friendly and helpful. It's a great location on the main road and in easy walking distance to most things. It was quiet and clean and just an all around good place.
