Spent two nights at the premier inn while in Torquay in business, the hotel offers virtually everything that you could need... the location is excellent - 50 metres from the beach and sea, and just 5 minute walk from the main harbour area where the shops and restaurants are located.
The rooms are very clean, but as you would expect from a budget hotel - quite basic. The bathroom was large, and bright, nice deep bath and good shower... The bed (which are the key selling point from premier inn) was large, and reasonably comfortable... being quite firm, (not our personal favourite - its a personal choice but we like them a bit softer) and you get a choice of medium or soft pillows.
You get a hairdryer and tea/coffee so everything you need.
The restaurant is on site, we only had breakfast which was excellent both days, the only moan was having to queue for 10 minutes to actually get into the restaurant to eat ( they check everybody in individually, and if you have to pay, you pay on entry and each person/couple takes a few minutes to process). Ideally they should have a couple of staff members on to speed the entry process. We didn't eat at the restaurant in the evening, but heard that the foods great, but you may have to wait sometime for your food, especially when its busy.
We paid for WIFI access on both days, it worked fine, but was a little intermittent.
Staff are really friendly - all in all a great little hotel.
Would we return - absolutely!!! its not the Ritz, but a great base when in town
if you want sea view room, book and ask in plenty of time.
