Owner description: Just a mile from Torquay seafront, historic Cockington Court is nestled within 460 acres of parkland. The Court has recently undergone a £2.85Million restoration and build programme to add to the existing craft studios. The craft centre is home to a growing number of artists and craftsmen - admire their skills as you watch them work in their studios and galleries. There is also an exhibition space and a resource room, both of which run regular displays and workshops with a programme to suit all ages. Don't miss the ornamental lakes, woodland and play park, ride a horse drawn carriage around the estate and top it off with a well-earned rest in the Tea Rooms. With a busy events calendar, Cockington Court is perfect for all the family!

“Cute Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

If you are expecting a Court that you would see in London don't waste your time. If you want to see how things really are now... definitely go.

We went on a saturday afternoon, got the last horse and carriage up, was very cutsie and romantic.

Cream Tea was the best I've had in Devon! Partner had a ham and cheese toasty which he devoured... all in all the place is cute for a few hours.

Oh and lets not forget the cockington cricketers ;-)

“Cockington village”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

You can make your way to the village via the coast road, there is a path that takes you direct to the village .The path is good for children/pushchairs and safe away from the main road. It runs through a shallow stream (good for photo) When you reach the village if you left under the arch it will take to ponds and gardens. You will also reach the church that dates back to the 1400. shops, horse rides. glass blowing, The Drum pub for drinks or food. with good space for children to enjoy along with the views. A good day out rain or shine.

“Serious improvement needed!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

I visited Cockington Tea Rooms today with my friend and my grandson, what a lovely setting! I thought instantly how nice they were and ordered a toasted sandwich and ham and piccalilli sandwich on granary bed - what a disappointment! The ham and piccalilli was served on stale granary bread with a poor excuse for a salad garnish and my friend's toasted ham sandwich arrived on burnt brown bread also with a poor excuse for a garnish. I never truly understand why cafe owners serve stale or burnt food in this day and age when quality is of prime importance! Te owners need to their ante and provide some decent quality food!

The toilets are a disgrace, bins were overflowing with used paper towels and no baby changing facilities! A lovely setting which needs someone to take the bull by the horns and provide something that goes with the wonderful setting! They can do it in Europe why can't we do it here? Stale bread should be binned - owners get your act together!
