“Spacious stop-over”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

The Future Inn is on the outskirts of Plymouth but the spacious rooms and quiet setting make it the best choice for a ferry stop-over.

You can get a room with 2 queen beds for about 70 quid and they'll give you plenty of towels, coffee, biscuits, milk and even a bottle of water. A good nights' sleep :)

This hotel is a little out of town but it is clean and tidy and i was very suprised that we had no noise from the road or other rooms. There was some confusion when making the booking as they had rooms available on line but when we called the hotel they told us they were full and that if we booked a room online we wouldnt necessarily get it and they wouldnt be responsible for helping us find somewhere else, we didnt book streight away because of this and the next day they had put more rooms online for sale so we called again and were told No we are absolutely full! In the end we booked the room online and turned up and everything was fine so it turns out they did have rooms. Overall i was happy with the hotel and would stay again.

Thank you for your recent review.
I am glad you found the hotel to be tidy and free from noise.
I would like to apologise for the information you were given when you called us to check availability; if a website states we have rooms available then that is correct, and I am sorry that you were told the wrong information in this instance.
We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

We stayed at this hotel for only one night as were visiting Dartmouth Zoo the next day with family.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly, efficient and helpful even printing us off a map for our onward journey the next day. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Nice added bonuses were the free water in the room and a selection of papers in the morning a rare occurrence in hotels as you usually have to pay for every last thing!!! The only negative that I would mention is breakfast in the morning. There was a good selection for a cooked breakfast but no cereals were offered only fruit salad and yoghurt so if you did not want a full English your choice is limited. Also the price at £9 per head I found a little steep. Would certainly recommend this hotel and will be trying other Future Inns if there is one available next time I travel.

The staff, building, room, bathroom and public areas are in very good decor and cleanliness.
Great desk and vanity mirror with shelves next to it in the room. great bathroom with lots of space.
Be very wary of the £9.00 breakfast it is available from 06.30 to 10.00 and at 08.30 the dried and stuck to the serving dish sausages and bacon along with the rubber scrambled egg seemed to have been out from the early start. Luckyly it was the day that we were leaving so we did not need to bothe again. Overpriced, overheated looking tired and dismal food is not the way to start a day. we spoke to the apologetic staff but it was too late for apologies. Decently cooked fresh food was what was expected. Check the food counter befor thinking about taking the first step.
A highly recomended hotel and staff with free parking and frequent buses into the town from just 150 metres from the hotel entrance.

This hotel is great as a base to visit Dartmoor and also Plymouth.

The Plymouth town centre is 14 mins drive and has plenty of parking.

The hotel is on a main road into town and has plenty of free parking.

Rooms are quiet and spacious. Our room was a suite which was very big with a Queen bed (very comfy) and a bed settee which was also very comfortable.

TV's have 50 channels and there is a good list of pay for view films.

The restaurant is very good and there are a number of specials available at reduced prices between 5 and 7pm.

There is a small gym but no pool.

Prices were very reasonable...
we found that on this occasion 'Eurobookings' was cheaper than Booking.com on this occassion. Also try going directly on the hotel web site as there are sometimes offers.

There is lots to do in Plymouth... but you must be prepared to get your walking boots on.

Try the Barbican and the Parade. This is a great little town centre area with lots of pubs and restaurants.

Don't forget to try the National Marine Life Centre ans Queen Annes Battery where parking is free for two hours.

Room Tip: get a suite--they are very spacious

After booking through a late deal website and getting a good price we stayed for four nights in a standard room. The hotel was clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Room was good size and the bed was good, just a little soft. Breakfast was good quality and they continued to refresh the hot buffet right up until the end of the breakfast service. It was perfect for what we wanted and we would definitely return.

Stayed one night at this hotel in a King size room.....turned out to be be a suite with bedroom and separate sitting room. I would describe it as an upmarket premier inn. The Bed was king size and not a ziplock and whilst comfortable a little bouncy for my liking. Also suprised they don't seem to press the bedlinen or make the bed very well - sheets not tucked in! The room could also have benefited from a thorough vacuum. The bathroom was clean and roomy, no shower cap or face cloths though. Overall decent enough experience and despite the little niggles would return if I needed a bed for the night in Plymouth.
