“What a lovely view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

This is a great chance to see Plymouth and the sea from on high. The history of the lighthouse is told as you climb up each floor. The signs describe the construction of the lighthouse and the difficulty of life as a keeper, and are displayed on each floor level. Take the chance to stand outside at the top to feel the wind, and imagine what it might be like in a storm. Well worth a visit, but be prepared to duck and take one step at a time on the stairs!

“Quirky & lovely views over Dartmoor and Plymouth Sound”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Went recently on a terrible day but still enjoyed the fantastic views. Quite atmospheric and better than the wheel. Obviously a climb but everybody there the day we visited could cope well. A badge for my grandson - 'I climbed ....' but none for me!

“Plmouth's Best View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

The stairs and ladders to the top of the tower are quite steep but the view of Plymouth Sound and over the city make it well worthwhile. The outside walkway give even better views plus you can feel the wind and hear the sounds.

“Great views for a low price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

You have to climb up to the top of the lighthouse if you come to the Hoe in Plymouth. It is not an easy climb, with only one person at a time being able to climb the stairs. And watch your head! Once you reach the top, have a good look at the inside of the lantern room where you can see where the multiple lanterns were fixed. The view in all directions is unrivalled.
