“Avoid Room 132 at all costs!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

We stayed in this Premier Inn recently and booked a family room on a Friday night. We were given a twin room with the beds put together and two 'camp' beds squashed into the room! The noise in this room is so loud, when we went to complain to the staff, we spoke to 3 different members of staff, all of them were aware of the noise in this room! The noise is because of the kitchen extractor fan, which does not go off until after 11pm and comes on again at 6am. Apparently it is hit or miss as to whether they receive complaints or not. We were not able to move room because the only other room was room 201 (disabled room) but apparently this is next to the lift and in the staff's opinion would be worse than room 132!

Fortunately we were given our money back but this does not make up for what can only be described as our worse stay in a Premier Inn ever. We have 3 more rooms booked in various Premier Inns in the next few months which we are now looking for alternatives! If you are told you are in room 132 make sure you get it changed straight away or you will regret it.

we stayed here and only paid £29 in their winter offers - such good value.
Was really impressed with the staff, food and room. The only slight downside was the noise from outside BUT i knew that would be the case as it says on the website, and really didnt impact our sleep. Next time i would ask for a room on the other side of the hotel.

Full credit to staff - genuinely impressed, very friendly and far too chirpy in the morning!!!

Room Tip: ask for one on the barbican side - away from road, and nice views.

All the staff were exceptional. Very warm and approachable and always with a smile on their face. The room was large and extremely clean. Had a fabulous evening meal in the restaurant with my family. Lovely location overlooking the harbour. Stayed for my son's passing out parade at HMS Raleigh, the hotel is close enough to make it a short journey to the ferry and base in Torpoint.

After a couple of minor issues re: housekeeping and breakfast on our first day which was resolved in a professional and timely manner by Dave on reception, I could not fault the rest of our stay. Apart from the bad attitude of the waitress who was 'in training' at breakfast, the rest of the staff were friendly, helpful and always smiling. The location was perfect, really central. I was apprehensive before we arrived as I was travelling with my husband and young son, about the possible noise due to the close proximity of the nightclubs and bars but can honestly say we had no outside noise issues. The size of the room surprised me as well, very spacious and clean and in good condition for a budget hotel chain. Would I stay here again..... Yes without a doubt and I would definitely recommend it to friends.

You generally know what to expect when you book a Premier Inn, however I would class this at the top end of the chain. Stayed in two different rooms and both were large, bright and really comfortable. Location is quite close to the Barbican area and not far from town centre. Had a really good breakfast and whilst we didn’t eat in the hotel in the evening, the restaurant did seem really busy.

Room Tip: There is a bridge behind the nearby Aquarium that is a short cut to the Barbican but check what time...

Situated in a very good position for visiting Plymouth. Near the harbour and Barbican area, great view if you get a room overlooking the harbour. 20 minute walk into the centre, similar to get up onto the Hoe. We had a room on the 3rd (top) floor.
Welcoming staff on arrival, quick and easy checkin. Room clean and tidy, good sized room.
