“A good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012

We stayed for one night at this Premier Inn and had a very good nights sleep. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and very clean. We ate at the Table Table restaurant where the food was very good. We would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: If you telephone ask for a quiet room facing the harbour.

My husband and myself stopped for one night at the Premier Inn (PI) at Lockyers Quay. I telephoned in advance and asked for a harbourside view. In reality the harbour view for any room is not too close to the harbour. However we didn't hear a thing during the night as we were away from the road. We had a huge tv in the room. The breakfast at the Lockyers Quay Table Table was top notch. Our hot breakfast was cooked to order and was piping hot and very nice indeed. In fact we thought it was probably the best one we have had at PI, and we have stopped at a number over the last 3 years or so. The PI is just a short walk away over the footbridge into the Barbican area. We would have no hesitation in recommending this PI.

Room Tip: Harbourside rooms are away from the road and nice and quiet.

I've been here many times and NEVER had bad service!
The staff are first class and service always very good. Its very near town so many of my family travelling to Plymouth have stayed here. Its Very close to the aquarium - great when a family. A short distance from the historical or old part of Plymouth The Barabican. Check out the Mayflower steps or see the lighthouse its all within easy walking distance - overlooking the sea

At the £39 a room per night for 3 people you cannot fault it.

My Dad and I stayed here for the Plymouth Half Marathon in May and it was a good hotel. The staff were very nice and helped Dad with his bike, after his 95 mile ride there!

The hotel provides free parking to the guests (obtain a pass from reception) and is in a good location near a retail park with Pizza Express, Cinema, Pizza Hut, Oceana and Nandos within a 5 minute walk. The on site restaurant 'Lockyers Quay' offers good value meals and a great, reasonably priced, all you can eat breakfast!

The city centre is a bit of a walk away (15mins/20mins) but you can enjoy the views of the harbour along the way :) Premier Inn often do sales and we got the room for under £40 a night - bargain!

We stayed here on the way to catch our ferry to France. Very convenient for Plymouth port. We booked a family room for the night as we were travelling with 2 young children.

The room was spotlessly clean, with tea/coffee making facilities and big flat screen television and comfortable beds. We received a warm welcome from the staff.

Just a word of warning though, if you are travelling with a family ask for a room harbour side. You will need to do this well in advance if its a busy time of year. We were allocated a room near the main road and the noise was awful, we were also woken at 3am by some foul mouthed drunks, our room was incredibly warm and the windows had to be opened through the night. Although the staff were excellent the next morning when they asked if we had a good nights sleep we explained the noise and we were immediately refunded the full amount of the room.

The hotel is adjacent to the pub and have to say, it is very average. The food is just ok and the service terribly slow even though it was quite quiet in there. There is lots more choice to eat out at the nearby barbican centre (about a 5 minute walk).

Overall would highly recommend the hotel if you get a quiet room.

Room Tip: Ask for a harbour side room well in advance of arrival.

I stayed at this hotel during the bank holiday weekend last August for a family wedding just outside of Plymouth. The hotel was easy to find with a large car park situated next to the Quay. We arrived earlier than expected and, as it was a bank holiday weekend, the hotel was fully occupied and the rooms weren't ready early (understandable). We took a quick power-nap in the car then set out for a stroll around the nearby high street and Quayside which are both just a few moments walk away. Upon our return we checked in and found our rooms to be bright, spacious and perfectly clean - tea making facilities in the room a bonus. Although we were only staying a couple of nights, you could easily make a long stay of it here with ample room for storage of luggage. Front desk staff were cheery and helpful with calling cabs. Bed was comfortable, bathroom very clean. Breakfast at the pub/restaurant across the car park was tasty and cooked to order quickly. Would definitely stay here again if looking for a simple base from which to explore Plymouth.

Room Tip: My room overlooked the car park, my dad's overlooked the road - both of us were undisturbed by n...
